Anjali and Ruthvik met in March, 2022 in medical school through one of their best friends, Kishan. On their first date, Ruthvik got 5 stars on Uber from Anjali for opening her car door, handing her water, and for adjusting the heat to her preferred 80+ degrees (his only red flag about her). He'll tell you otherwise, but Ruthvik definitely let Anjali win at glow in the dark mini golf and won her over after with their mutual love for ice cream. Anjali had to leave early for a Taylor Swift dance night event, but Ruthvik still crossed her mind as she was singing and dancing. At the same time, Ruthvik was debriefing with the boys over dinner about his great first date and drafting a message to send to Anjali to ask her out again. They were enchanted to meet each other again (Anjali &amp; Ruthvik's Version). As they went on more fun dates over dinners, concerts, immersive experiences, and even the library where Anjali studied and Ruthvik pretended to study, they made it official in the most magical place—the Costco gas line. Fast forward a few years, Anjali and Ruthvik were ready to start ring shopping and wedding planning. Things didn't go as planned though when Anjali's dad mistakenly put the proposal date and time on their family calendar. Ruthvik played multiple roles that day of keeping everyone happy and calm, while working with the photographer and venue on new proposal plans. He surprised Anjali with a beautiful proposal with flowers, candles, and photos of their favorite moments together, with help from some of their closest friends. We're grateful for all of your love, and we can't wait to celebrate with all of you soon! With love,Anjali and Ruthvik

Hi, I’m Kelly, Anjali’s bestie! I first met Anjali my freshman year of high school through mutual friends at “The Tree” after which we started having lunch with each other. My favorite memory with her is going to see Walk The Moon at the Greek Theatre and I’m most looking forward to celebrating the love between Anjali and Ruthvik at the wedding!

Hi, I’m Sabrina, Anjali’s childhood best friend! We met in kindergarten where we played tetherball together, bonded over muddy buddies and our love for dogs, and have been best friends ever since. My favorite memory with Anjali is when we went camping in 5th grade and heard noises coming from the back of our tent and discovered that a fox had come in! We screamed and ran out of the tent and thankfully talked our way into staying in a cabin for the next night, but it was still one of my best memories with Anj! I’m so excited to celebrate Anjali and Ruthvik’s love. It's been such an honor witnessing their love story and it means the world to be there on their special day.

Hi, I'm Amna, Anjali is one of my dearest friends from medical school! We've shared so many unforgettable memories since our first year of med school and our first picture together was from a hike. Whether it was our walks around campus with my dog Ollie—where I’d joke about her fast walking but secretly struggle to keep up—or our coffee and study dates by the pool with snacks, every moment with Anj is filled with laughter and good vibes. I’ll never forget the Halloween when she dressed as the sun, and I was the moon. It's been so heartwarming to hear about her early days with Ruthvik to seeing them begin this new chapter. The wedding's going to be such a beautiful and emotional moment (I’m slightly worried though about keeping up with her on the dance floor–she has more energy than all of us combined)!

Hi, I’m Olivia, Anjali is my best friend from college! We met at our sorority and bonded over yoga, medicine, and wellness. We had this amazing room in Berkeley where you could see the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge! My favorite memory is going on this amazing hike with her in the Bay and halfway through she sprained her ankle really bad, but being the outdoorsy girly she is, she was determined to finish the hike (she did in fact finish the hike but paid for it the rest of the week haha). At her wedding I'm looking forward to dancing and watching her be super happy with Ruthvik!

Hi, I'm Nikki, one of Anjali’s good friends from college! I first met Anjali in my freshman year of college when we were in the same sorority. We instantly bonded over our love of hot yoga, hiking, and kombucha. I have so many great memories with Anjali, but my favorite is running around Laguna Beach with Anjali, Olivia, and Ruthvik a few summers ago. I am so excited to celebrate Anjali and Ruthvik at their wedding and to have the dance party of the century.

Hi, I’m Nithya, Anjali's cousin! We met when we were babies. My favorite memory with her is memorizing and practicing dance numbers from High School Musical and performing them in front of our family - we thought we were amazing dancers. I’m looking forward to celebrating Anjali & Ruthvik’s love together with family and friends. Huge congratulations to Anjali & Ruthvik!! Excited to celebrate both of them!

Hi, I’m Rish, Anjali’s future sister-in-law (also Ruthvik’s sister)! I first met Anjali over the phone a few weeks after she met my brother, and then I met her in person later that year when she flew all the way to Iowa to celebrate New Year’s with my family ( I met my brother a few hours after I was born). My favorite memories with the two of them is all the game nights we’ve had together, and I’m most looking forward to getting to dance with friends and family at the wedding!

Hi! I’m Bhavika, Anjali and Ruthvik’s friend! I actually met Ruthvik first since my boyfriend was roommates with him in medical school. My favorite memory is actually helping Ruthvik decide what sandwiches and flowers to bring on his first date with Anjali. He was so nervous but excited, and same with me bc another girl (Anjali) was finally added into the friend group! Ever since then, we have hit it off with the same love of music artists, being creative, winning game nights, and repping UC Berkeley — go bears! I can’t wait for Anj and Ruth’s special day and to celebrate their love!

Hey, I’m Mai—Anj and Ruthvik’s friend! My boyfriend Kishan introduced them, and it’s been such an honor watching their relationship grow from day one.
One of my favorite memories is our triple date nights, especially playing Red Flags. We’d try to create the perfect date for each other, and every time, Anj would end up picking the cards that described Ruth to a T. It was super sweet (and kind of funny) how obvious it was that he was her person.
We’ve been through so much together—step exams (ew), tough times, birthdays, parties, and engagements. Now I’m so excited to be part of their wedding and celebrate this next big moment with them. Love you guys so much—can’t wait for the big day !!

Hi, I’m Kishan! ⁠I'm Ruthvik’s med school friend, motivator, and matchmaker. ⁠I met Ruth at a Halloween party where we bonded over college football and basketball. When he told me he was a Celtics fan, sparks flew!  With Ruth, there’s not just one favorite memory. I appreciate how he's always there for anyone around him who may need him, regardless of how busy or stressful his life is. He’s a one of a kind dude, and I’m grateful he’s my friend. Hey, I’m Neh! I'm Ruthvik’s friend and roommate from medical school. I first met Ruthvik when we both connected on Facebook while trying to find roommates before starting medical school. Some of my favorite memories with him are the late night “study” sessions we had where we would watch endless music videos on YouTube and bond over our love for Bollywood music and movies. I’m most looking forward to celebrating the amazing bond between Ruthvik and Anjali at the wedding! Love you guys!

Hi, I’m Eric! Ruthvik and I met during undergrad while I was visiting our mutual friend Des at his house. We found out that we were taking pretty much all of the same courses, and from then on, I kept Ruthvik accountable (or at least tried to) for nearly all of his coursework and MCAT prep. But we made sure to spend an equal-ish amount of time gaming, streaming nearly the entire Brooklyn 99 series, and having quality chats. There’s lots of good memories with Ruthvik, but many of the late night drives to Taco Bell/McDonald’s or just around Ann Arbor are special to me. I’m looking forward to celebrating Ruthvik and Anjali during this momentous time in their lives and seeing them create cherished memories together!

Hey everyone! I'm Des and I met Ruthvik in a study room at East Quad during freshman year when I saw him playing RuneScape. My favorite memories are staying up late talking about NFL stats, watching B99, and talking about our days. At the wedding, I’m most excited to see Ruthvik marry the love of his life. He's always had so much love to give and I'm happy that he found his person in Anjali. I’ll never forget when he first told me that he met Anjali and wanted advice on how to ask her out, because he also told me that same day that he was going to marry her. I knew she must be someone special because someone as great as Ruthvik deserves nothing less. At the wedding, I’m excited to share my bad dance moves and have a great time celebrating the happy couple!

Hey all, I’m Dhillon! I met Ruthvik through my sister, well… because he’s marrying her! My parents had him over for dinner when we first met, and I remember trying to be intimidating with no success. I knew immediately that not only was he one of the boys, but the best person for Anjali. I’m grateful for our friendship, and how he always looks out for Anjali and everyone he knows. There are way too many memories to choose from, but one of my favorites was at karaoke for mine and Nishaan's birthday. I will never forget Ruthvik’s traumatized face when he was subjected to all the uncles and aunties singing and rapping for never ending hours. I’m not sure if my idea for a video game room was approved for the wedding, but I can’t wait to see our families joined together in a beautiful ceremony.

Hi, I’m Sriram! I met Ruthvik through his sister and got to know him when we went bowling with his family, and my favorite memory with him is hiking up Mt. Rainier! (We might have even done the titanic pose at one point). I’m most looking forward to getting to know the bridal party at the wedding!

The wedding venue is about half an hour away from many beaches in Malibu, including El Matador, Zuma, Point Dume, and more. They're all beautiful!

El Matador State Beach

This state park in the Santa Monica Mountains is around 15 minutes from the wedding venue. There's plenty of hiking trails ranging from easy and moderate to strenuous.

Malibu Creek State Park

Around a 15 minute drive from the venue is the Malibu Temple, a beautiful South Indian style temple that's mostly outdoors. Regardless of your background, beliefs, or aspirations, their temple doors are open to all.
