Do I need to stay the ME Hotel?

We recommend that guests stay at ME Terramar Hotel. Our Day 1 events will take place here, and we will be providing transportation to and from the Wedding venue on day 2 from ME. That said, we know costs are an important factor and have included nearby alternative options for consideration. Please don't hesitate to reach out directly with questions or concerns!

Is there transportation from the Hotel to the Wedding venue?

Yes. We will provide a shuttle from ME Hotel to Finca Mas Solers. The shuttle schedule will be shared with you closer to the Wedding day. The venue is about a 15 min drive from the hotel. We plan to have buses leave from ME Hotel on the wedding day in good time for the Baraat. On return from the reception, we will have two coach departure times, one for those who want to leave before the end.

When should I fly in and out?

We recommend, at a minimum, all guests arrive Monday, May 29, and stay through Thursday, June 1. This will allow you to attend all events. Of course, we hope all guests see this as an opportunity to travel and explore more of Spain, beyond our wedding dates!

I've never been to an Indian wedding, what should I expect?

Traditionally, Indian weddings tend to be large and span a couple of days. Although Hindu customs vary by region of India, the general concept is the same – it’s a fun affair, filled with vibrant colors, music, plenty of food, and dancing. Although our family members and close friends may have a role, the remainder of our guests are invited to sit back and enjoy.

I'm not Indian. Is it okay for me to wear Indian clothes?

Yes! We invite all of our guests to wear Indian clothing. While it is not mandatory, we welcome everyone to participate in our culture based on their level of comfort. Pro tip: try to avoid wearing black for the wedding ceremony!

Okay, so it's cool for me to wear Indian. But what's appropriate for each event?

Also, a good question! We've created a Pinterest page, broken down by event, to give you some inspo. Again, please don't feel pressured to wear Indian clothing unless it's something you're feeling up for! For some outfit inspo: https://pin.it/6fUIfbQ. What kind of food will there be?

The food will primarily be veg & non-veg Indian, with the exception of the Welcome Party where you can expect an assortment of cuisine. Food will be served buffet-style so you will be able to choose what you'd like to eat.

Will there be henna or mehendi?

Yes! At our welcome party, we will have mehendi artists. All guests are welcome to get a small design. Pro-tip: have a bite and use the restroom beforehand. It can be hard to do things with wet henna!

I heard Indian ceremonies are really long. Is that true?

They can be! We are aiming for a shorter one, 1-1.5 hrs. We will provide a detailed program so you can follow along during the ceremony.

What is a Baraat? Can I join in?

You may have seen a groom's procession with a horse or car and singing and dancing - this is called a Baraat. Vijesh, his family & friends usher him into the wedding venue and are met by the bride's family & friends. It signifies the start of the wedding ceremony and the new chapter Vijesh is beginning.

What about gifts?

During this special moment in our lives, your presence at our wedding is more than enough to make our day. If you would like to honor us with a gift, we are kindly requesting no boxed gifts, which is a familiar Indian wedding custom. Check out the "Registry" tab for more info.

Will there be transport between venues?

On Day 2, the Wedding Day, we will provide a shuttle between Finca Mas Solers and ME Hotel and Calipolis (on return from the reception). This will be to and from the wedding before and after events at a fixed time which shall be confirmed closer to the date.

What does the formal dress code mean for men at the Reception?

For men, formal clothing includes trousers, a dress shirt (and maybe a waistcoat or vest), a suit or a tuxedo jacket and dress shoes.
