Anjulique & David's Story

We never imagined that a night out with friends at just 16 and 17 years old would mark the beginning of OUR forever! It was the winter of 2009, and Anjulique, a typical 17-year-old Jersey girl, crossed the bridge to go to a teen club called “Samba” during winter break of her senior year. Meanwhile, David, a junior in high school, was there hosting a party with his friends from “Dub Gang.” The night was unforgettable, but the magic really happened as Anjulique was leaving the club. David chased after her and made sure to escort her to the car! From that moment on, Anjulique felt like she had a personal bodyguard. What began as a chance encounter quickly became something far more meaningful.

The First Date

Our first official date was worlds away from the club scene—it was at IHOP! Over plates of French toast and glasses of orange juice mixed with cranberry juice, we laughed and talked for hours, even continuing our conversation in the parking lot. At that moment, I was just a Jersey girl who was different to him, and he was a Philly “bul” who was something new to me. It was the perfect start to a journey neither of us realized we were about to embark on.

Falling in Love

As we spent more time together, we realized just how much we shared—our values, our goals, and even our dreams for the future. We went through high school together, attended each other’s proms, took vacations, shared countless first experiences, laughed, cried, and supported each other through every milestone. We’ve built a home, raised two beautiful children, and faced every challenge as a team.

For Anjulique, being with David meant feeling deeply loved and safe—like he was her bodyguard and best friend all in one. He made her feel seen, heard, and completely protected, and she knew there was no greater feeling.

For David, being with Anjulique meant finding someone who had his back no matter what. Her love gave him confidence, her support made him feel unstoppable, and her presence assured him that together, they could face anything life threw their way.

Starting Our Family

In 2013, the birth of our son Jayceon brought us even closer, and two years later, we welcomed our daughter Skylar in 2015. Our love grew deeper in ways we never imagined, and our bond became unbreakable. For David, watching Anjulique become a devoted and loving mother filled him with pride and admiration. Her care and dedication not only to him but also to Jayceon and Skylar made their family stronger. Anjulique, in turn, cherished the way David became the protective and dedicated father she always knew he would be, giving their family a foundation built on love and strength.

The Proposal

After 15 years of love and laughter, David planned the perfect proposal. While on vacation in Costa Rica, after celebrating his brother’s wedding, we enjoyed a romantic dinner on the beach, listening to music under the stars. David began sharing all the reasons he loves me, and while I thought it was just a sweet conversation, he surprised me with the most beautiful ring! It was an unexpected moment that we’ll cherish forever.
