Our Story starts just like most love stories, at a bar in Buckhead!

Ann was too proud to make the first move, and Doug was too shy (of course). Luckily, one of Ann's friends pulled Doug over to talk to her and the sparks started to fly. The first meeting immediately led to two dates the next day, hiking then dinner, (this of course after Ann checked Linkedin to make sure Doug actually had a good job).

While originally planning to keep the relationship casual, as Ann had to start a job in Indianapolis 6 months later, the chemistry was too good not to take a chance and at least give long distance a try. Luckily, we both had flexible jobs and were able to take weeks off at a time to visit each other. Ann survived her first Vaughn family trip to Disney and Doug enjoyed his first trip with Ann and her mom to New York so we knew the families were a match!

The Christmas right before Ann was moving back to Atlanta, she was down for the holidays and Doug suggested a Christmas Bar. We parked at Piedmont Park and decided to walk through the park to the bar as we were early for our "reservation". Once in the perfect spot, Doug extremely nervously pulled Ann forward and got down on one knee. Doug was only able to get out the words "Will you Marry Me" and Ann's response was "No, jk, YES!" which almost gave Doug a heart attack. Our parents were nearby and we all went to Murphy's restaurant to celebrate the amazing engagement.

The two years away in Indianapolis seemed to fly by and soon enough, Ann was back in Atlanta, living with Doug in Buckhead. Our newest addition to the family is Georgie, an English Cream Golden Retriever, and while he is a handful, he has brought so much additional Love to the house.
