Ours is a modern love story...that is to say, we met on the dating app Hinge.
After both parties swiped right on each other in January 2019, conversation quickly picked up. Adam made the first move and asked Anna to drinks - which she declined due to work travel. The two kept talking until early March, where it made sense to finally meet in person. On March 11, they both agreed to meet at Botanica Bar at 8pm. Anna showed up at 7:55, Adam showed up at 8:27 (blame the subway!).
The second date took place a week later, at The Folly, where the two exchanged their first kiss in front of a bartender who probably wondered what on earth was so romantic about a Tuesday night. From there, they went to ABC Beer & Co, won trivia at the Hairy Lemon, forgot cards at the Wren, and devoured bagels at Tompkins Square Park.
On April 26, Adam asked Anna to be his girlfriend - a very easy yes. On May 11, the two exchanged their first "I love you's" the night before Anna's half marathon. Adam went all the way to Coney Island to greet her at the finish line with a home-made sign!
That first summer went quickly with Anna training for the NY marathon, frequent trips to Newport, and many mini-adventures around the city. By the time fall rolled around, the two were well adjusted to a routine of Friday dinners, Saturday morning coffees, and then going to wherever the wind took them.
With fall rolling around, they did what all couples do...and they went to a pumpkin patch. A couple weeks alter, Anna completed the NYC Marathon and had he favorite fan at the finish line
2019 rolled into 2020, a year that seemed like it had so much going for it, for those first 6 weeks
In February 2020, they went to Belize for their first vacation together
And then.....the last 'fun thing' before the pandemic hit - a birthday celebration at the NYYC in NYC
Like everyone else, we thought the pandemic would just be two weeks, so in early March Anna went to Milwaukee and Adam went to Rhode Island. This period of long distance can be summed up in once word: FaceTime
On May 24, Anna flew to Rhode Island to stay with Adam's family
Summer 2020 was spent between Newport and NYC, moving into their new apartment, and learning how to work from home together
Fall 2020 meant the obligatory ~fall things~
We really got into the holiday spirit
