The first time we met! I saw him at a spring break party and I had a strong feeling that he was someone special. I may have been a little ahead of myself but the very next day, I told my mom I would marry him.

We got the chance to really talk to each other for the first time! ... He was so soft-spoken and sweet; he seemed shy but could easily light up any room with his presence. His effortless warmth and way of making you feel understood was unlike anyone I’ve ever met.

Our first time actually hanging out. I asked him to help me move my stuff from my parent’s Cocoa Beach house to their new house. I didn't need help... in fact, basically everything was already done. But he showed up ready to jump in wherever he could. When introduced to my mom, she asked what grade he was in (keep in mind: I was a junior in high school, and this was a pretty stressful day for her). He responded, “I'm a freshman,” and my mom said, “Oh, at Cocoa Beach?” He said, “No... at Eastern Florida State College.” Mom wasn’t too crazy about me dating a college boy just yet! Of course, she warmed up to him by that night.. which is pretty easy because if anyone knows Jerry at all, you know about that effortless and genuine nature.

Yay! He asked me to be his girlfriend. I, of course, said yes then quickly questioned if this was some sick joke, but luckily it wasn't (…I think. I never got a straight answer on this). By this time, my dad was already talking about how he could put him to work at River Remodelling! He was working full-time with my dad by May.

Jerry, who is not a cat lover (just ask my brother, Markie) drove me to the SPCA and I picked out Pretty Girl! We took her home that day and have loved her ever since... well I have at least. Regardless, we got our first pet together (though he still doesn’t claim her most of the time)!

Our first vacation together! We decided to go amateur-hiking in Georgia. What a bust... We made the best of it though!

We moved to Tallahassee! Looking back, this was scary. We had no jobs or anything solid planned for the future, other than each other. These first few weeks put a lot of pressure on our relationship but we came out the other side even stronger!

I drove to Auburn, Alabama to pick up Sadie as Jerry's early Christmas present. He was pretty upset at first, not too sure why... I just gifted him a cute puppy! Wouldn't anyone be thrilled by that?! Anyway, he came around quickly and now we genuinely couldn't begin to imagine life without her.

We went on a family vacation to Manasota Key. This was our favorite vacation ever! Jerry slipped up and told me he planned on proposing to me on this vacation but didn't because I was adamant that I wanted to be graduated before engaged.

Our good friends got married in Jacksonville! This was the first wedding we attended together. I knew I wanted him to be my wedding date for the rest of my life.

Jerry graduated!!! WOOHOO! I really didn’t think I could be any more proud of him and at the time, I couldn’t. But as I’m writing this, I’m continually amazed by how he finds new ways to outdo every day before, and makes me prouder than I ever could’ve imagined.

Jerry and I closed on our first home together! We admit this was a huge accomplishment at 21 and 22 years old. But next time, can someone remind us to never buy new construction ever again?!

Jerry's 23rd birthday! I secretly planned a whole birthday dinner for him with both of our parents for the following Saturday, May 18th.

My birthday plans for Jerry started to unravel when my mom called me and said our reservation was pushed back due to rain... we had nowhere to go while we waited so we went to the beach, where it seriously started to monsoon. We took cover under the seagrapes on the boardwalk and when I turned around Jerry was on one knee saying, “Well I guess there’s no better time to do this...” FINALLY!!! He proposed! I was so happy and I learned that while I thought I planned Jerry’s birthday dinner, I was just made to think that I was the one who planned it by everyone else! Meanwhile, Jerry had truly been the one planning this for quite some time. That was a lot of confusion to swallow at once! I’m sure you’re feeling the same way right now! I wouldn't have had it any other way though.

We visited the venue and our heads were turning with ideas and excitement! Afterward, we went to the jeweler and picked out my wedding band! It all felt so meant to be and once we got in the car and headed back home, it started to rain. I guess everyone should bring their raincoats around us!

I'm not sure what exactly is to come yet, other than the fact that I will be marrying my best friend on this day. I don't know what the day will look like exactly and I'm sure there will be some hiccups, but I know it'll be nothing short of perfect. I have waited for this day for over 5 years now and I couldn't be more excited! Happy Forever Anniversary Jerry.

We are incredibly blessed to get to be in our position and experience our wedding day with all those we love as we continue to add to our timeline 🤍
