We're so excited to have you join us for our wedding! If you're planning to extend your stay, here are some recommendations for exploring both the incredible attractions of Washington, D.C. and the local areas near Loudoun County.
Getting to Washington, D.C. and recommended activities
The wedding hotel, the Tru by Hilton Ashburn One Loudoun, is conveniently located near the Ashburn Metro Station (Silver Line). This makes it easy to hop on the train and head directly into the heart of Washington, D.C. The ride typically takes about 1 hour to reach downtown D.C. stations like Metro Center or stations on the east side of the National Mall like Capitol South. You could also get a rental car from the airport or uber into the city, which takes anywhere from 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. We recommend checking the WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) website or app for real-time schedules and fare information.
Once in the city, we would recommend checking out the suite of monuments and free museums near the National Mall.

We also recommend walking through Embassy Row. Located just a short distance from downtown D.C., this historic area is home to dozens of stunning embassies, each showcasing unique architectural styles and reflecting the diverse cultures of nations from around the world. Embassy Row stretches from Dupont Circle towards Observatory Circle, encompassing parts of the Massachusetts Avenue Historic District and nearby areas like Kalorama.
Other fun areas to visit in D.C. include Georgetown, The Wharf, and Capitol Hill neighborhoods.
Want to explore close by?
The area the hotel is located, Loudoun County, offers beautiful countryside, historic towns, and plenty of entertainment options. The One Loudoun town center, directly next to the hotel, has incredible shopping, restaurants, bars, and a theater. Additionally, (and most importantly) Loudoun County is the heart of D.C.’s wine country.
There are over 40 wineries and vineyards nearby, offering stunning views and award-winning wines. Spend an afternoon enjoying tastings, touring vineyards, and soaking in the sights. It's a wonderful way to relax and experience a different side of the Washington, DC area. Many offer food pairings or have food trucks on site.
In addition to wineries, Loudoun County also has a thriving scene of craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries if that is more your style.
