Our story is very hometown for two people who haven't lived in their hometown for awhile now. We grew up five minutes from each others houses and went to all the same schools. David, Anna's older brother, and Kevin were in the same grade and great friends, and Anna was attached at the hip to her older brother, always paling around on trips.

We went to University to play sports; lacrosse for Anna and football for Kevin. Anna went all the way to San Diego State while Kevin stayed closer to home and went to Hopkins, trading the best weather for convenience. While Kevin studied Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Anna studied Chemistry. After a stint back home after graduating from college, Kevin went to Pittsburgh to study Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon. Towards the end of Anna's undergrad, she decided to apply to PhD programs for Organic Chemistry, and asked Kevin for advice on her Statement of Purpose. She attended North Carolina State in Raleigh (good weather again).

Both of us did normal life for a bit, graduated as Doctors, survived a pandemic, and Kevin had his son Oren. In early 2023, Kevin drove down to Baltimore to visit Anna, who was dog sitting Lyra for David and Annie. After spending the day paling around, we decided to try dating across multiple state lines. After numerous 7 hours drives and countless flights Anna moved up to Pittsburgh on Kevin's birthday.

On April 8th 2024, Kevin proposed to Anna under the peak of the solar eclipse in Pittsburgh, in Schenley park, where our engagement photos were taken. We moved in together shortly after and that's the beginning of our story.
