We were just kids when it all started- from having Spanish class together my junior year and her thinking I’m a kiss ass to the teacher (I wasn’t, but she’ll say I was) to me sliding into her instagram DM'S and then being too nervous to do anything after that. Fast forward about a year or so later and I think I’m going to the gym with a buddy of mine and we show up at his girlfriend's house and there she is, Anna sitting on the couch, we were set up on a blind date type ordeal to make us actually talk to each other. Shortly after that we started texting each other every day and every single night into the late hours. I would leave cute notes in her locker (even if I was scared to talk to a pretty lady like her at school while we shared the same lunch period). I remember shakily asking her to be my girlfriend after months (oops) of talking and fearing rejection thinking she was out of my league. She happily said yes with the biggest grin on her face. As the months went by we began to develop a deep love and caring relationship with each other and as time passed it only got deeper and deeper. From me waiting for what Anna calls “an ungodly” amount of time to tell her I love her to continue that bond for years. We were just young dumb and in complete love with each other as kids. In 2020 we needed to go our separate ways to do some growing up and to focus on ourselves. In 2024 our paths crossed once again. This time it was different, but it felt the same as it did years ago when we were so madly in love with each other. It was almost as if we didn’t skip a beat just casually talking with each other, talking about our life experiences, how much we have grown as individuals, and how anyone could notice the difference in maturity from both of us. We both had a better understanding of each other and the world and what we wanted out of it and a lot of our views were still aligned. We talked for hours that day–about life in general, our accomplishments, the ~drama~ we both missed out on, all the small things. I remember going home that day and thinking to myself “She really is the one. She is the one that got away” and I was never a person to believe in that phrase because it sounded cliche, but it was true. Everything from that moment made me realize it. Nothing was awkward, it was all natural. We were giggling like little girls. I was talking to my best friend and my first love. I knew the moment I got another chance with her it would be the best decision I could ever make because the love was still there, and I could feel it. Fast forward to this point in time and I am happily engaged and going to marry my absolute best friend and our bond and love have only developed much deeper and stronger than ever before.&nbsp;

Mackenzie and I met on Bumble BFF in the middle of a pandemic — which sounds like the start of a reality show, but was actually the beginning of a top-tier friendship. We bonded instantly over our love of music, live shows, and, most importantly, our shared talent for roasting our exes over wine.

Ironically, the ex I once roasted is now the man I'm marrying (plot twist!). Mackenzie witnessed the *entire* emotional rollercoaster — and somehow still agreed to stand beside me at the altar. That’s loyalty. Or trauma bonding. Either way, she's one of my favorite people.

From sharing playlists to helping me pick my wedding playlist, Mackenzie has been the ultimate hype woman, therapist, and partner-in-cryme (yes, with a Y). I couldn't imagine this day without her.

Brandon and I go way back—like nap time in first grade back. While I spent most of that year half-asleep, somehow we still managed to strike up a friendship that stuck. Over the years, that connection turned into something solid—built on a shared love of sports, late-night gaming sessions and hosting our own LAN parties back in the day whether it was Call of Duty or Borderlands, and pulling all-nighters (sometimes for school, mostly not).

Kelsey and I go way back — like, elementary school back. She was the new girl, and I immediately decided we were going to be best friends. Why? Because she knew my stepsister from her old school, and in my brain, that was enough to claim her. I basically forced her into this friendship… and here we are, decades later. (So you're welcome, Kelsey.) Since then, we've been inseparable. She's the one I call when I need to rant, a good cry, or to hide a body. She asks zero questions, offers zero judgment, and gives exactly the kind of advice you’d expect from someone who’s known all your secrets since you've had questionable bangs and weird glasses. She is more than just a best friend; Kelsey is the sister I got to choose and has stuck with me through every weird phase of life.

Paul and I first met on Discord through Chris during the lockdown days of COVID. With nothing better to do stuck inside, we started gaming together and quickly realized we had more in common than just a headset and Wi-Fi. Paul was also in the Army, which gave us an instant connection, and from there our friendship grew. Before long, we were just as likely to be talking hoops or football as we were running games online. What started as a quarantine friendship has turned into one of those solid bonds that stuck.

Maddy and I met in the trenches — also known as the labor and delivery unit — where we bonded over raccoon memes, mutual emotional damage, and the kind of dark humor only night shift nurses truly understand. From day one, she’s been one of my favorite coworkers turned close friend turned permanent girls-trip partner.

We’ve delivered babies, survived chaos, and probably earned a group therapy punch card by now. In between shifts, we discovered our shared talent for finding any excuse to celebrate just about anything with a drink or two.

Whether we’re planning a weekend getaway, dragging each other out for a girls’ day, or just sending memes at 2 a.m., Maddy always brings the laughs, the good vibes, and the emergency chex mix. 

she’s the kind of friend who turns everyday moments into memories worth celebrating (with drinks, obviously).

Chris and I first met in 6th grade, all thanks to a chance lunchroom moment. I overheard him talking about RuneScape—of all things—the same game I was playing at the time and how he would achieve 99 magic one day. That one conversation kicked off a friendship that’s been going strong ever since. We went from grinding quests online to hanging out in person, dominating lobbies on Call of Duty, and eventually even serving in the military side by side.

Kaelyn and I met through work as labor and delivery nurses. Our bond was forged between non-epiduralized patients screams, drive through deliveries, and unhinged dark humor. Since then, we’ve leveled up to travel buddies, girls’ day enablers, and the ones who insist on "one more shot" (which we both know is a lie). Kaelyn is the first to offer a listening ear, the last to ever judge, and the one who gives shockingly good advice. She’s the kind of friend who will make you laugh until your face hurts, then sit with you in silence when you need it most. She shows up — whether it’s for a full-blown celebration or a last-minute vent session in sweats.

Ian and I first crossed paths in 8th grade through a mutual friend—and to be honest, we didn’t exactly hit it off. Fast forward to one random night on Call of Duty, I get invited to a party to run some Modern Warfare 3, ask who the random in the lobby is—and boom, it’s Ian. We started dominating matches together, and just like that, a friendship was born. High school had its moments (mostly me not liking Ian if we’re being real), but over time that faded, and I came to see who he really was: a laid-back, genuine guy who’s easy to get along with and even easier to laugh with. We’ve been solid ever since.

Kaylee and I met in a college English class, where we bonded over our hatred of APA format and by not-so-subtly eye-rolling our way through group projects. Fast-forward a few semesters, and we found ourselves knee-deep in nursing school — a.k.a. emotional boot camp — where she officially became my bestie.

We survived exams, clinicals, sleep deprivation, and an unhealthy amount of stress together, but we did it side by side! Since graduating, we have taken a more relaxing route in friendship and enjoy spontaneous get aways, concerts, exploring hiking trails, new cities, and so much more. Kaylee is the friend who shows up, always has the best snacks to pack for an adventure, and somehow manages to be both hilarious and deeply thoughtful at the same time.

Tyler and I first met when he joined the military and ended up in my unit—lucky him, right under my supervision. From day one, he was beyond goofy but also sharp, independent, and honestly hilarious. Our real bond formed during our deployment to Egypt, where he ended up as one of my soldiers once again somehow. Between workouts, video games, constant pranks, and just talking about our lives, what started as a leader-soldier dynamic turned into a genuine, solid friendship.
