Kutter and Anna knew of each other throughout high school but truly got to know one another during their senior year.
During their senior year, these two shared several classes and happened to sit near one another in all of these classes. Kutter always struck up a conversation, especially in Psychology class, and this caught Anna's attention fairly quickly.
Kutter seemed to want to know everything about Anna, and this stood out to her. Although she refused to let him copy her answers on the tests (it was so obvious; they sat right next to the teacher), Kutter enjoyed her company enough to invite her to a band practice.
The night of the band practice, Kutter pulled up to Anna's family's house blaring Megadeth out of his car. Anna had the biggest smile on her face as she raced out to see him. When she sat in the car, the first thing that stood out (besides how cute Kutter was) was the smell of California Scents Coronado Cherry. This smell still reminds her of their early days together.
The best thing about band practice was not the music itself, but the fact that Kutter remembered that Anna loved Smashing Pumpkins. He started playing a riff from one of their songs, and Anna was so shocked. Not because she loved the song, but because he remembered something about her that she probably mentioned once a year prior on a field trip bus ride. Kutter's ability to truly listen and remember things about Anna is still one of the most important parts of their relationship.
Although they never made it official, these two grew in their relationship each passing month.
When Kutter worked at McDonald’s, Anna loved to stop by and spend an hour or so in the lobby just to be around him. As Anna worked shifts at Cracker Barrel, she would sometimes come outside to see a bouquet secured under the windshield wiper of her car.
Throughout that first year, Anna received flowers from Kutter every month. During that first Christmas, Kutter received the White Jackson Kelly guitar (he was saving up for) from Anna.
Above all, one of the most important memories in the early months of their relationship is senior prom.
During senior prom, Kutter requested a couple of songs the two loved (as they both always shared a love of music), but the DJ never played them. By the time they left prom, Anna was secretly a little disappointed that the DJ never played any sort of slow song that she and Kutter would like.
During the drive home, Kutter made a pit stop at a church parking lot and Anna's disappointment melted away when she realized what was happening. Kutter parked his car, opened her door, and took her hand to guide her outside. He read her a letter about how much the past several months had meant to him before playing their favorite songs and having their slow dances together. This is the story that Anna tells when people ask her what one of her favorite memories with Kutter is.
Kutter and Anna stayed strong while Anna was in college and Kutter was starting his career at Toyota, and the two eventually rented a place together.
These two love to explore different cities, attend exciting concerts, try various cuisines, and so much more. Now they officially have their own home and always work together to look towards their future.
