Justin and I have known each other for many years. We first met in high school. I thought he was this nerdy goof ball but definitely not my type. Fast forward many years later we both had mutual friends that hung out together, so we started hanging out again. He mainly accompanied me and my best friend (Emily) to the bars. We all had a blast, and I started to become more attracted to him. He was always so attentive making sure we were both okay. I admired that about him. We grew really close. I admitted to him that I had feelings for him and at the time he decided he wasn’t ready for a relationship. We remained in contact, and I often came over to his house to visit my cat Lingling who I had to rehome, and he graciously took her in. Months later he texted me out of the blue saying he had a song he wanted me to listen too. The song was Honeybee by Steamed Powered Giraffe. It was a beautiful love song. I was confused and asked him what he meant by wanting me to listen to it. He said I have a question for you, but I want to ask you in person. A week later on December 7th, 2020, he asked me to come over and that day he asked me to be his girlfriend. I of course said YESSSS!! That night after we went to Hokkaido as our first official date, we danced to Honeybee in his living room, and it was the most magical night of my life until 4 years later when he asked me to be his wife.
