When the world was shut down in 2020 two nursing students were struggling in their last final weeks of the school year, and one of the only saving graces throughout this time was……Swensons! If you have gone to college, you know about those late study nights where all you need to cure some "finals blues" is a Galley Boy cheeseburger and a delicious ice cold milkshake. And that is how it all began.

Josef will promise you the moment he saw Anna he knew that would be his wife. And, after a few shared messages they started to get to know each other. And before you know it, they were off on their first date at Swenson’s. They talked, laughed and fell in love over a Galley boy and and a milkshake. By the end of the night she was smitten. And so was Josef.

But soon after their first date, Josef moved 1,000 miles across the country where he took his first job as a Cardiac ICU Nurse in Orlando, Florida... Could they even attempt to try this long distance thing after only having a few dates under their belt before he left? Why YES! They couldn’t stay away long and soon they began taking many round trip, no-leg-room, Spirit/Frontier flights back and forth from Cleveland to Orlando to begin their long distance relationship. And whoops!!!…they fell in love even more :)

Sooo, what to do next? Well the only feasible thing in both of their minds would be for Anna to ALSO move 1,000 miles away to Florida. And she did just that after graduating from nursing school one year later.

What can you say, love makes you do some wild things.

During their time in Florida, they got to know each other so well, and grew so much individually and together. But as time went on, they knew Florida was not their ultimate home. They craved in their lives to have solid support, community, and family around them to help improve and propel their relationship forward.

So back to Ohio they went.

Quickly after moving back to Ohio, now being surrounded by such great mentors and friends, they realized that they wanted to do this thing called life together, forever, and that takes us to this exact moment.

Josef and Anna want to choose each other, forever. They have chosen each other to be partners, motivators, and to challenge each other to be more like Christ each day. On May 24th, 2024 they will make their vows under the covenant of Christ to begin their lives together doing just that. They cannot wait to build this new chapter of their life together with many more beautiful chapters to come. (:
