Every great love story starts somewhere, and ours began at a Phi Kappa Sigma “darty” (day party) during our very first weekend at TCU in 2018. What started as a casual introduction quickly turned into an hours-long conversation in the corner of a loud fraternity party. That same night, Alex asked Anna to lunch the next day at Potbelly, our first official date, and from that point on, we were inseparable.

Alex officially asked Anna to be his girlfriend on October 27, 2018 right in the middle of the annual Phi Kap Halloween party! Our college years were filled with late-night walks around campus, study sessions in the library, TCU sports and lots of Phi Mu and Phi Kap events as we made memories side by side.

Throughout our time at TCU, we supported each other’s passions with Anna on the pre-med track, and Alex pursuing finance. We introduced each other to the things we love like TCU football, the Colorado mountains, crawfish boils, and, most importantly, our families. After just one visit, Alex fit right in with the Garretts in Baton Rouge (and found his second love, Cajun food!), while Anna has found a second home with the Durhams in Dallas.

After graduation, our relationship was tested by four years of long distance while Anna pursued her childhood dream of becoming a doctor in Shreveport, and Alex stayed in Dallas to earn his masters in finance and begin his career in wealth management. With countless road trips, FaceTimes, and weekends together, we made it work! Now, with Anna graduating in May, we’re looking forward to closing the distance.

After almost 7 years of dating, on June 27, 2025, Alex proposed at our favorite spot on White Rock Lake in Dallas. With an easy "Yes!" and a surprise appearance from Anna’s parents to celebrate, it was a special day we will never forget.

As we are now preparing to say "I do," we’re filled with gratitude for the past seven years and the friends and family who have supported us along the way. We thank you for being part of our story and can't wait to celebrate with you on May 23!
