Most people fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which is just south of the City of Seattle. From there, you can rent a car, take the Link light rail, or book a BellAir shuttle directly to Anacortes, where you can catch the Washington State Ferry out to the islands.
There are also regional airports in Bellingham and Everett that are closer to Anacortes but more expensive.
This is the trickiest and most time-sensitive part! We will ask about your travel plans in our RSVP form. Options are below:
1. Take the Washington State Ferries from Anacortes, Washington to Orcas Island. This is about a 60 minute ride that takes you through the beautiful San Juan Islands -- Zack and I love to go up top to bird- and island-watch!
a.) CAR RESERVATIONS BOOK OUT 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. Make reservations if you're driving onto the ferry here.
If you miss the first release of reservations 2 months out, additional releases of availability happen at 7am PST at 2 weeks and 2 days out.
b.) You can WALK-ON to the ferry without reservations. Park or carpool at the Anacortes ferry terminal ($__), then walk on to the ferry with your luggage. We will coordinate ahead of time to meet you on the other side. First time rider info: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/washington-state-ferries/rider-information/first-time-riders
2. If you're feeling like treating yourself, take a seaplane flight with Kenmore Air from Seattle (~1 hr, ~$200/person).
For those who don't bring a car we can help coordinate a pick-up/shuttle from the island-side ferry terminal. Please note what your travel plans are in the RSVP form so we can optimize this option.
Stay close to the action all weekend! This is a FREE option for guests. If you plan to stay at the camp there will be linens provided for those who want them however, you might want to bring sleeping bags or pillows if you have them.
NOTE: While there are 148 twin beds available and we will do our best to spread guests out with as much space as possible, it is likely that smaller parties of guests may be sharing a cabin with each other.
Airbnb and VRBO:
Both are great options if you'd like to reserve a place to stay off site for you and/or your party.
The closest towns to our venue are Olga, Rosario, and East Sound. You may also find plenty of options in the Doe Bay or Orcas areas, just note that there will be a little longer travel time to get to the venue. However, the island is only so big and even the town of Orcas is only about a 25-minute drive from our venue.
If you are interested in sharing a rental with another party to reduce costs, please note that when you RSVP and we will do our best to connect interested parties.
There are several hotels in the area, when looking at different hotels keep in mind the closest options will be in Rosario and East Sound. For your convenience we have some options listed below:
