In May of 2021, Anna told her dad as they watched Marvel’s Thor, “dad, I’m going to marry Thor some day.”

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, Anna was deadlifting after work at the fitness center. Mike was on the turf behind her doing barbell military press. She was resting between sets and he decided to come over and introduce himself.

“Hey, I don’t think we’ve met, I’m friends with the other trainers here and I just thought I’d introduce myself, I’m Mike.”

Anna, knowing exactly who he was because she’d seen him at the gym over the couple months she’d worked there so far, played it cool and pretended she had no idea who he was.

“Oh nice to meet you, I’m Anna! Yeah I started here in May and I think I’ve seen you around.”

Meanwhile in her head all she could think was “this guy looks like Thor.”

That day she went home and told her dad she met him, she met Thor.

A week later they went on their first date: a fun run followed by a steak dinner at Juniper Cabin in Wilmington. Little did they know two years later Mike would be proposing on one knee in the very same place.
