Q + A

What airport do we fly into?

Palermo (PMO) has more options, but some European airport fly direct to Trapani (TPS) as well.

Are there direct flights?

All Italian airports fly direct to PMO. Outside of Italy the most common are Zurich (ZRH), Vienna (VIE), Barcelona (BCN), Munich (MUC), and London (LGW, STN), but it is not difficult to find direct flights once in Europe.

How do we get from the airport to hotel?

When you arrive in Palermo there will be taxis lined up outside the airport. The taxi will be about 75-100 euros to get to the venue and a ~30 minute ride. You can also rent a car (make sure it's automatic) for around 50-70 euros a day. You won't need the car while you are at la Tonnara, but if you have early flights out or are splitting the cost with others then this is probably the way to go.

Where do we stay?

Rooms at la Tonnara have already been reserved. There are also plenty of hotels/airbnbs walking distance from the property. Please reach out to Anna or Dylan if you want to reserve a room at Tonnara.

What expenses will I have once I arrive?

On the free day, if you would like to hike the nature reserve, take a boat out, or walk to town, those expenses will be on you. We'll handle breakfast and dinner every day. For anything extra you want there is a GREAT market about 0.5 miles from la Tonnara and a cafe at la Tonnara. The only other expense will be rides to and from the airport.

What is the attire?

Anna says it is something called "festive chic black tie". We're in Italy, be confident. If you have questions, text Anna (864-752-5614)

On the free day what can we do?

You can walk to the town of Scopello (15 minute walk) where there are some good cafes and restaurants. Hike to Zingaro Nature Reserve which has the most beautiful beaches you will ever see (45 minute walk from la Tonnara). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You can also rent a boat for a half day trip. Please reach out to Anna if you would like to rent a boat and she can arrange that for you.

Weather in Sicily in April?

High 50's to low 70's

Anything else we must know?

Outlets are different in Italy, so make sure you get an adapter. Definitely have cash, Sicily is still very cash heavy. Most places take card but cabs are hit or miss, so have some euros.
