Our story

It all started during the COVID lockdown when Anna added Kyle on Snapchat. They started talking every day, and feelings began to grow. Through Anna’s “smooth moves,” she let Kyle know how she felt. Kyle was elated because he felt the same way.

They began their COVID relationship, which included sending each other silly videos, having late-night talks, and planning the perfect first date. On June 9, 2020, they went to the bowling alley with friends. Even though they had been talking daily for the past two months, it was awkward, and Kyle got too nervous to ask her to be his girlfriend.

The next time they saw each other, they went frisbee golfing, and it was Kyle’s turn to use his “smooth moves” to ask Anna to be his girlfriend. As the months passed, things became less awkward, and the two grew closer. Since Kyle and Anna were each other’s first boyfriend and girlfriend, they were both a bit immature, which caused some bumps in the first six months of their relationship. This led to a devastating breakup—but of course, it didn’t last long. Within a week, they were back together, and they haven’t looked back since.

That spring, Kyle started going to a Bible study and eagerly shared with Anna everything he was learning about God and what the Bible says about relationships. They began to put God first in their relationship, and suddenly, everything clicked. They had the best summer together—going to the lake, riding around on the golf cart, and swimming.

In August, Kyle left for college at Auburn, but they were prepared and confident that their love could withstand the distance. Many people told them it wouldn’t work, and many of their friends had attempted long-distance relationships only to break up within the first few months. But Kyle and Anna stayed strong—there was never a doubt.

For the next three years, they continued their long-distance relationship, cherishing their Christmas and summer breaks together and dreaming of the day they would live in the same city. Marriage became a frequent topic of conversation, especially after they began reading their Bibles and seeing how beautiful and fulfilling a biblical marriage could be. (Also, Kyle was probably tired of sleeping on the couch when Anna came to visit.)

After years of dating, it became clear to their families that these two had become best friends, and the next logical step was marriage. In August 2024, they went to Mississippi to look at rings—and to their family’s shock, they came back with one!

In November, Kyle asked Anna to marry him, and she said yes! She was overjoyed to be marrying her best friend and spending the rest of her life with him.
