How They MetNick and Anna met in 2020, when they were 19 years old...online because how else were they supposed to meet people during a pandemic?! Nick's first impression of Anna was that she was smart, pretty, drop-dead-gorgeous, and that she was the one. Anna's first impression of Nick was that he was incredibly handsome, funny, and respectful. The two had sparks from the get go! On their first date, Nick took Anna to a bonfire in Denton to meet a few of his buddies and enjoy the summer night. However, upon arriving early, Nick wanted to show off and ended up slashing a hole in his tire doing donuts in the dirt. While Nick called his buddies for help, you can only count on Marines so much before they bring you a bike tire repair kit from the gas station. Nick and Anna would end up getting rescued by Nick's future father-in-law at 3:00 in the morning. This is when Anna knew that Nick was the one. Their Journey So FarNick and Anna went on their first trip together to Georgia for Thanksgiving for Anna to meet his family. Everything was smooth sailing until they reached Alabama and Anna was driving...and hit a block of wood in the road that dented Nick's tire rim and caused them to have a flat tire. They called for a tow truck and got it fixed, and arrived in Georgia after their 2 hour delay. Needless to say, Anna isn't allowed to drive on roadtrips anymore. Overtime, Nick and Anna's relationship ebbed and flowed with time. While they did not spend all of their time before engagement dating, they always made sure to stay in each other's lives and were always there for the other when they needed. However, when Nick and Anna got back together before the proposal, they knew for a fact that this was it because their love was stronger than ever and has only grown since. The ProposalNick proposed to Anna on June 23, 2024 at Anna's parents house. Nick had been planning the proposal for two months after asking for Anna's hand from her dad and brother. Nick's family came into town, and he was waiting for the perfect moment to ask that would be special and memorable. That Sunday morning, Nick and his mom went to church and when they returned, they all went to brunch. On their way home, Nick mentioned that they were going to take family photos when they got home which got Anna thinking and panic texting her friends and family asking if they knew anything. After sitting around and chit chatting and allowing Nick and Anna time to freak out before the proposal, everyone got up and went outside to take pictures. Everyone told Anna to go over to the tree to show where to take the pictures, and when Anna turned around Nick was on one knee. Of course Anna said yes, or else you wouldn't be reading this! Looking AheadThe two are so excited to start this next chapter of their lives as one. They plan to do some traveling around Europe and the US before settling down in Texas where they will make many more memories to come.
