We were just kids then—friends who bonded over classes, conversations, and in her case, lots of spicy chips. For sixteen years, we were just that— friends. Through life’s ups and downs, heartbreaks and celebrations, we were constants in each others lives. Neither of us knew exactly where it would lead, but deep down, we always knew this connection was something rare.

In 2023, something shifted. Between dim sum dates and late-night talks, our friendship blossomed into love. It didn’t happen all at once—it happened naturally, comfortably, and beautifully. We looked at each other and saw not just a best friend, but our future.

We’ve shared so many moments: traveling together, board game nights, and being there for each other during the hardest seasons of life.

And then came the proposal. In our backyard, surrounded by surprise guests—our family and closest friends—he got down on one knee. With a glowing heart setup, sparkler machines, and the people we love cheering us on, he asked me to marry him. It was everything I could have dreamed of and more.

When I think about why I love him, its simple: he’s sincere, thoughtful, and always makes me feel seen.

When he thinks about why he loves me, he says, “She’s kind, never judges me for my past, always helping me become better. She’s supportive in ways I never knew I needed.”
