We hope you all make the most of your weekend in Lynchburg as you celebrate Joel and I's marriage with us and our families! Below are some local favorite restaurants for breakfast, coffee, and ice cream as well as some activities!
This is one of my mom's (Anna) go to stops when she comes to visit! At Cinn City is where Abby and Mom met Joel for the first time! It is located in downtown Lynchburg.
Joel and I's first double date with his sister Heather and her husband Jonny was at this crepe restaurant downtown! They have a variety of sweet and savory crepe options. Super yummy!
For all my Alabama folks, this restaurant reminds me of Another Broken Egg! My Dog Duke's Diner is a beachy little brunch restaurant located downtown. Dogs are allowed! So if your missing your fur baby, this may be a fun place to stop by for brunch!
This small hole-in-the wall joint has invented one of the most life-changing concepts: coffee ice! Definitely worth a visit! It is not located downtown, so if you want more of a quiet place, this is perfect for breakfast or lunch.
During the summer while Joel and I were in maintenance school, we spent several Saturday mornings downtown at the Farmer's Market. I love the sweet peaches they have in the summer. Usually, when my mom and other family come to visit, we wind up at the Farmer's Market.
If you would like a little bit of exercise during your long weekend in LYH, there is a moderate hike up to Liberty's monogram. The trailhead is located at Liberty's ski lodge. There are also other activities to do at SnowFlex, including a gymnastics style trampoline and all-year-round skiing, snowboarding, and tubing!
River Ridge is Lynchburg's local mall! For shopping, there are stores like TJ Maxx, Ulta, and some local boutiques. The local movie theatre and several yummy restaurants like Papa Gallio (Mexican) and Iron and Ale (American) are within the mall. Rookie's, a local ice cream and cookie shop, also has a storefront here.
Joe Bean's is a Lynchburg favorite! It's a tiny double-sided drive through shack. For my Alabama folks, it's like Creme-Brew-Latte! There are more locations spread throughout Lynchburg, this one is just the closest to our venue.
Mission House is located within walking distance of my (Anna) apartment. When I'm in dire need of caffeine, this is my go-to!
This coffee shop is located downtown. Although we have never been, it is a coffee shop frequently mentioned by friends.
La-Vida is also located downtown. This shop is also frequently mentioned among friends.
Kline's is a newer drive through ice-cream shop. A sweet memory Joel and I have here is meeting up with my grandparents and just sitting and eating ice cream together!
Mister Goodies is the local favorite soft-serve ice cream tuck! They give you plenty of ice cream at a low cost. With picnic tables on the premise, this is a great place to hang out with friends! Joel and I have many memories together here with friends!
Rookie's is another Lynchburg favorite! They serve hard-scooped ice cream paired with their delicious cookies to make amazing ice-cream sandwiches!
They have a store front at this location, and they also have one in the mall.
