In the heart of Austin is the Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, a lush, urban path that meanders along the water’s edge and passes by skyscrapers, neighborhoods, ball fields and cultural attractions. We have spent countless hours enjoying this outdoor gem!
You can also rent paddle boards or kayaks on the "lake" at Texas Rowing Dock OR Peace, Love, Paddle.
South Congress draws plenty of foot traffic to its vibrant stretch of hip boutiques, trendy lodging options and Austin-original eateries. Live music shows abound, including nightly sets at the legendary Continental Club or catch a show in the outdoor oak garden at Guerro's (our favorite).
Renovated houses turned into bungalow bars, Rainey Street is extremely unique to Austin! Grab a cocktail or quick bite at any one of more than a dozen bars/restaurants and food trucks.
