I'm sure you all are wondering how this Texas girl stole the heart of a Jersey boy.
Let's take things back to December of 2013... It was a cold and icy evening. Dallas weather decided to throw a curveball at the Lambda Chi's formal plans. Venues were cancelling. Transportation was shutting down. But, the fraternity boys weren't going to let this surprise ice attack cancel their party.
Anna and Brennan had been texting for a week or so, excited to finally meet in person as they had been set up by a mutual friend who thought they would be the perfect pair. Neither one of them knew what to expect, but both were ready to try something new.
A quick hug was exchanged as Brennan handed Anna a shot of tequila and said, "here is some Patron, I've gotta go talk to some freshman!" As you can imagine, this didn't go over so well with Anna...
Somehow, Brennan spent the entire night trying to make up for his initial, unfortunate, gesture and the two became inseparable from then onward.
After the blind date, Anna and Brennan spent the rest of their time at SMU together (well, for the most part). They went to every formal, date dash, and boulevard together. You could find them almost every weekend hanging out at their favorite little dive bar, Milo Butterfingers, or enjoying delicious tacos at Urban Taco. Coincidentally enough, they ended up as the Tri Delta and Lambda Chi Presidents at the same (sore subject, sorry Brennan)!
One graduated a semester early, one graduated a semester late, but alas, they both got their degrees. Pony up!
As the two were sad to leave Dallas, it's no surprise that Brennan followed Anna to San Antonio as she began her journey to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery...
He was lucky enough to not only be one of her strongest supporters, but also one of her very first patients!
While living in San Antonio, Anna and Brennan were able to enjoy endless bouts of the most delicious Mexican food and spend almost every weekend either hanging out at Anna's parent's pool or The Pearl Farmer's Market.
The two spent the next four years working to make their dreams a reality. Brennan paved his way into the San Antonio commercial real estate market while Anna shoved her nose into books and mouths, working hard to become a dentist!
If you didn't know already, Anna and Brennan are definitely dog people. Both had dreams of adopting a fur baby, but weren't quite sure where to begin. Anna's sister, Sadie, had sent them both a link to the cutest rescue puppy who just so happened to be a Boxer mix.
One day, Anna and Brennan were out with some friends enjoying a few too many adult beverages, and decided they were going to apply to be parents of this tiny little fur ball.
The next day, they woke up to a phone call from the rescue agent, asking when they wanted to come pick up their new little pup! They were overjoyed and shocked that they had been accepted so quickly. Anna and Brennan hopped in the car, along with the entire Stell clan of course, and made their way to New Braunfels to meet the future love of their lives.
As they drove back to San Antonio with their new tiger stripped pup, they passed by a sign that said, "Entering Bexar County" and the name Bex Rhianna ("R") Foley was born.
As with anything in life, the best things can happen at the worst times. Corona herself came into the picture right as Anna was graduating from dental school. Little did she know, Brennan had a master plan for their future...
Brennan had no desire to move to Iowa City, IA with just a "girlfriend." He was working hard behind the scenes to make sure Anna had the proposal of her dreams. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had plans of it's own and put a few dents in his plan.
Somehow, in the midst of a pandemic with a cancelled graduation and postponed licensing exam, Brennan still managed to surprise a girl who absolutely hates surprises.
What Anna thought was just some graduation photos with her sister, turned out to be just what she needed to cheer her up. Not only did Brennan shock her with a proposal, he managed to gather friends and family and put together a post-engagement celebration .
The newly engaged duo packed up everything they owned and made their way across the country to the midwest. Who'd a thought they would end up in Iowa of all places!
While Anna put her heart, sweat, and tears into finishing up her residency in Pediatric Dentistry, Brennan had been working hard navigating the Texas and Iowa markets, and being the best stay at home doggy dad.
They couple loved getting to explore all that Iowa has to offer, including Hawkeye football games and getting to participate in the Iowa Wave!
As their time came to an end in Iowa and they were very sad to leave some of their amazing friends and the midwestern charm. However, the couple was also elated to be moving back to sweet old San Antone.
Anna and Brennan, once again, packed up their things, shoved everything into a Uhaul, and made a 16 hour journey back to the great state of Texas.
The couple is thrilled to be back in the '09. They currently live within walking distance of their favorite restaurant and Bex is excited to live within driving distance of her grandparents.
Since moving back, Anna and Brennan have been very busy with wedding final touches, settling into their new place, and hustling away at their jobs.
The two cannot wait to see all that life has in store and are happy to welcome you all to the great city of San Antonio to celebrate their marriage!
