Our Wedding

It was a cold winter evening and the city of Pittsburgh prepared for an exciting New Year&#8217;s Eve celebration. Weeks earlier, Anna and her friends planned an extravaganza in the north shore, consisting of dueling events at Steel Cactus and Local Brewery, both in the shadows of PNC Park. Scott&#8217;s friends, after much deliberation and back-and-forth, coincidentally shared the same plans. Fresh off of a trip from Dallas with a flight that landed that evening, something in his heart told Scott to rally and join his friends. At approximately 10:30 that night, Anna stood with her friends at Local Brewery having a great time chatting and laughing. Scott, from across the room, couldn&#8217;t help but notice Anna&#8217;s glowing, charming smile that illuminated her from the crowd. Without hesitation, Scott excused himself from his friends and walked toward Anna. He dug into his playbook to cook up a bullet-proof strategy to strike up a conversation. Instead of directly making his presence known to Anna, he slyly asked her friends if they knew whether fireworks would go off at midnight (he actually was curious about this, but what better way to obtain this information?). After chatting with them briefly, Scott decided to shoot his shot with Anna, asking if she happened to know the answer to his question. Once their eyes locked, Scott and Anna felt an immediate connection. They introduced each other and fireworks immediately became an afterthought, as they chatted the rest of the night. Trying to show off a bit for Anna, he bought drinks for her friends and when he asked what Anna wanted to drink, she went with Scott&#8217;s go-to: vodka tonic. Anna and Scott had a blast celebrating what would be their first of many New Years Eves. They exchanged numbers at the end of the night and little did Anna and Scott realize, the true fireworks that went off that night were created by the spark from their connection together, which is a spark that exists today and forever more!

The trail is a great way to see the beauty of Pittsburgh and it’s rivers! Anna and Scott would often go for walks early in their relationship (aka the height of the pandemic) just as something easy and fun to do outside of the house.

Scott proposed to Anna on the North Shore part of the trail close to PNC Park!

The best way to see the Pittsburgh skyline is to take the incline to the top of Mount Washington! At the top there is a small museum and the Grandview Overlook is great for photos! There are several great restaurants with views nearby once you’re at the top. The Lemont is one of our favorites.

Heinz History Museum 

A historic neighborhood with tons of local food and shopping. It is the best place around town to shop for Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and Pittsburgh pride gear! If you’re hungry, then a stop at the original Primanti Brothers location in the strip is a Pittsburgh right of passage.

Strip District

If you know Scott, then you know one of his favorite pastimes is golfing and you know he’s good at it. Anna enjoys playing TopGolf with Scott because A) it levels the playing field and B) they have great food and drinks to entertain her. 

Top Golf Pittsburgh

Puttshack at The Terminal is a high tech indoor mini golf course. Each hole has a fun twist to it and you can have cocktails and beer while on the course. We always have a lot of fun here! It’s a great stop if you’re going to be in the Strip District area. We recommend making a tee time in advanced.
