Enter a girl who had spent years post - college searching for her potential match on dating site after dating site. Countless first dates later, she had given up almost all hope and reduced her dating profiles down to only one website.

Enter a guy who wasn't really looking for anyone, in fact he was eyeing up the opportunity to move to Memphis, Tennessee. While talking to his friends who live there, the topic of how rough it is to find anyone to hold a conversation with on dating apps came up. A wager was posed by the guy telling his friends that he would download whatever site they chose and he made a bet that he'd be talking with a girl from that site within a week.

Luckily, for both the girl and the guy that website was Ok Cupid. And, as you've probably guessed by now, that girl and guy are Annabel and Nathan.

After about a solid month of chatting over the app, and Annabel letting Nate know about her policy of not giving out her phone number until she met him in person, Nathan asked Annabel out for their first date. They went mini golfing at the newly opened Puttery in Pittsburgh.

Although she was terrified of making a fool of herself, Annabel ended up decimating Nathan in their game. Luckily, he was a good sport about it. Although, between the holes, he did almost throw her off her game by revealing his upcoming trip to Memphis to visit his friends and check it out as a place to move to within the year. Annabel may have internally screamed when Nathan told her that.

However, after a lovely evening of conversation and revelations, Annabel gave Nathan her phone number and initiated their first kiss as they said good night outside her car.

While Nathan enjoyed time with his friends, Annabel endured one tense week of waiting and hoping this great guy wouldn't up and move on her. Thankfully though, Nathan returned to Pennsylvania deciding to at least see where this budding thing with Annabel would lead. And after several dates all around Pittsburgh, Nathan asked Annabel to be his girlfriend as they had dinner at Lucca Ristorante before seeing the play You On The Moors Now at Carnegie Mellon University. Which they followed up with a long chat and music sharing session in the East Campus Garage that had to be broken up by garage security for the garage's closing.

At their shortly following date on Earth Day at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium, Annabel took their first official pictures together as a couple- some of which starred a particularly spectacular giraffe.

From then on, the two only continued to grow closer, introducing each other to their families and friends. They even enjoy reminiscing about their individual times as CalU students. And although they never formally met each other, Nathan swears he remembers seeing Annabel once or twice. And she has since realized he was the guy one of his fraternity brothers tried to convince her to pie in the face outside Natali, the Student Union. Unfortunately for them both, Annabel never carried cash on her, and found the whole idea of pieing a guy she didn't know at all a bit mean and ridiculous. She did find herself thinking of the cute guy she almost pied from time to time though.

Luckily for them both, fate had other plans and found another way to reconnect them nine years later.
