There is plenty of parking space at the venue, St James the Apostle Catholic Church, 1000 GA-155 N, McDonough, GA 30252
Where should I park for the wedding reception?
There are a few parking spaces (for around 30 cars) immediately surrounding the reception venue, plenty of overflow parking just across the street around the property’s second building, and also across the property’s lawn (the Gallery at Hood Street/Hood Street Art Center, 136 Hood St, McDonough, GA 30253). If all those spots are somehow filled (which is unlikely), we recommend you park at the free parking deck just a little down the street at the corner of Lawrenceville St and Hood St, directly across the road from the Municipal Court. On Google, the parking deck address is listed as 55 Lawrenceville St, McDonough, GA 30253. If you're willing to take a short 5 minute walk, there is also usually free parking available (if the church has no events on) at the First Baptist Church of McDonough, 101 Macon St, McDonough, GA 30253. There are also multiple paid parking options dotted on and around McDonough Square within a short stroll from the Gallery.
Will you be able to accommodate dietary restrictions at the reception?
Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies as early as possible (e.g., pescatarian, vegetarian, celiac, vegan) and we'll ask our caterer to accommodate.
Does your wedding have a theme? If so, what is it?
Yes! The theme is enchanted forest, with a subtle nod to the elven realms of Middle-earth (if you're a fellow Tolkien-fan, think hints of Rivendell, Lothlórien, Greenwood the Great, Ithilien, Doriath, Dor-lómin, Eldamar, Eregion, Lindon, Tirion, and a sprinkle of the Shire!)
Can I come in costume?
As much as we love a good costume, please come in your standard wedding attire. (That said this wedding does have an enchanted forest/subtle Middle-earth theme to it, so we appreciate little nods to the source material if you'd like to incorporate them!)
Where will your honeymoon be?
In the short-term, we'll probably stay in-State or travel nearby for a "pre-honeymoon". After we've saved up some funds, sometime we'd like to visit Greece and Italy!
There are multiple doors into Hood Street Gallery. Which one should I use?
Please enter the Gallery through the Warehouse door, on the same side as the terrace.
