Anna and Nathan met on the first day of their freshman year at Biola University. They were placed in the same honors cohort, but quickly became close friends thanks to a schedule mix-up that put Anna in Nathan's biology class. They took their first photo together on a large group trip to Big Bear for their biology teacher, as they had been learning about different eco-systems. Total suck-ups.

They then spent 11 months Facetiming and texting during the pandemic, waiting to start dating until Nathan was able to come back to California. While it was challenging, it served up sweet memories of chatting, watching movies, and doing homework together.

Anna and Nathan officially went on their first date at a nearby park! Park dates have remained a favorite of theirs.

Even though Nathan was back in California, they still had to weather the effects of the pandemic, such as masks in fun bookstores and outdoor dinner dates due to restaurants and campus restrictions.

The Biola Torrey Cambridge trip to the UK allowed them to see England and Scotland together while also studying great literature! This picture is taken from the top of King Arthur's seat in Edinburgh. Nathan and Anna are excited to return and explore more of Scotland for their honeymoon.

Nathan was blessed to bring Anna along on a Johnson family trip to his hometown of Lyme, New Hampshire, where he was born and grew up. This trip brought to life all the wild stories Anna had heard from Nathan's childhood.

Nathan and Anna got engaged at South Coast Botanic garden, a place Nathan had spent weeks looking for to find the perfect gazebo to pop the question in. They spent the day relaxing in the park, just like they did on their first date, and probably will continue to do throughout their marriage.
