Our story began the way so many do—with friendship. We were simply two close friends who loved spending time together, never thinking much beyond that. I can still remember secretly hoping that maybe, just maybe, he could be the one I would marry one day. But I quickly tucked that dream away, convinced that we were far too close as friends for it ever to become more. 	What I didn’t know then was that God was already writing something far greater. After nearly 3 full years of friendship, João and I found ourselves single at the same time. I spent time thinking about the possibility of a relationship and quickly quieted that thought with reality of our friendship. And suddenly God began raising questions. One fateful week João began to shift. Little did I know João spent days in prayer about us, and eventually, due to a persistent friend (shoutout Ashley) I set aside a night to bring it before the Lord too. In that time of prayer, everything changed. It took about 4-5 hours for me to realize I liked him, realize I loved him, and accept the fact that he might not feel the same way. I found myself surrendering to the Lord and asking God to “make things clear.” On May 2nd 2025 - that same night - at 2 am João asked “to talk.” And He would tell me how he was in prayer, in full surrender before the Lord at the exact same time I was. An hour later all our feelings were on the table. God opened our eyes to see what He had been building all along. We realized that our friendship had been the foundation for something deeper—that we were in love, and that this was the love story He had chosen for us. 	Six months later, the Lord surprised me again in the sweetest way. What I thought was just a family vacation turned into the most unforgettable day of my life. With my entire family secretly in on the plan, he asked me to be his wife. Completely surprised, and overflowing with joy, I said “what?!” And then “YES” to the man I had once only dreamed of marrying. 	Looking back, I see God’s faithfulness in every chapter of our story. I fell in love with how João leans wholly on the Lord, how much joy he brings to every room, and how intentionally he loves people. We are a perfect match, never believe anything else!! I cannot wait for the rest of our lives together—for the laughter, the ministry, and the everyday moments that we get to live out together. Here’s to a whole new kind of ministry!! Guys I finally found the one whom my soul loves!!
