What should I wear to the Sikh ceremony?
If you don't have a traditional Indian outfit prepared, here are some general guidelines to follow:
1) Dress modestly, in a manner similar to how you would when visiting any religious establishment.
2) Wear a head covering at all times while in the temple. If you do not already own one, head coverings will be provided at the temple.
3) Remember to remove your shoes and wash your hands upon entering the temple.
4) Opt for modest clothing choices, such as garments with sleeves, long skirts, or dresses, and avoid attire that may be considered revealing.
For wedding guests visiting the temple for the first time, additional information can be found at the following link: https://www.nanaksargurdwara.ca/visiting.
What should I wear to the French ceremony?
For guests attending the French ceremony, please note that it will take place outdoors, rain or shine! We recommend semi-formal attire for both the ceremony and reception. However, if you plan to extend your stay to enjoy the camp activities, feel free to bring along an extra change of clothes. For more information about the venue grounds and directions on how to get there, please visit the following link: http://www.campmaskepetoon.com/facilities
How does camping with our RV work at Camp Maskepetoon?
Please confirm in your RSVP if you plan to bring your RV. Space is limited, and availability will be confirmed upon receipt of your RSVP. The designated RV parking area is an open field, so confirmed RVs will need to be strategically parked. Rest assured, we will have a plan in place before your arrival! Please note that there are no hookups available, and that the venue charges a $25 fee per RV per night.
Can we stay in a bunkhouse?
You bet! There are 11 bunkhouses which sleep between 6 and 10 people each. These are good old fashioned camp cabins! Bring bedding for your single bunk. We'll do our best to put you with your preferred cabin mates. Make sure you send us your accommodation request early!
Can we camp for the entire weekend?
Friday night is reserved for immediate family, bridal party, and set up crew. But we can't wait to see you on Saturday! Feel free to bring your own lawn games to enjoy during cocktail hour if you'd like!
Food and Drink?
Following the ceremony, complimentary light snacks and refreshments will be available outside the main reception hall. For dinner, a buffet will be served offering both traditional Indian and continental cuisine. Additionally, a midnight lunch will be provided. The evening reception will also feature an open bar, opening at 6:30 PM and continuing until 2:00 AM.
