It was March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Anne found herself locked down in Brixton, in a 4-bedroom flat, alone. Luckily, her bestie Jenna lived close by to spend the weekends partying it up on her terrace in Brixton and getting a killer tan. James, on the other hand, had been on his way to Thailand to see his mum and stepdad, looking forward to spending time on the golf course, going to the gym and taking long walks on the beach. Two very different lockdown experiences.

A few weeks into the first lockdown, Anne became increasingly lonely on the weekdays and was open to seeing how to spend her time to bring some excitement back into her life. James was successfully on his way back from Thailand, with the mindset of finally meeting someone to spend his life with, after making a resolution to himself on the beach before heading back to the UK.

Simultaneously and without knowing, Anne and James decided to redownload the dating apps. After swiping a bit, Anne stumbled upon James. Funny enough, Anne and James had met the year prior and even had a successful first date! Things didn’t progress much further since that date (It’s true what they say that timing is everything) but when Anne found herself on James’s profile yet again, she stopped and thought to herself “Hmmm I know this guy, we had a great first date, and I’m not technically breaking the rules if I go for a walk with him as I know him, okay fine I will swipe yes”. A match was made and the first message “Hey stranger” was what unknowingly solidified their forever.

Anne and James began to see each other and within a month, were madly in love and officially boyfriend and girlfriend. After keeping their relationship a secret due to it still being lockdown and technically illegal, they were finally going to tell their family and friends! Telling their families was all through facetime of course as Anne’s family lives outside of Philadelphia and James, Marbella (but at the time, Phuket - hope you’re keeping up).

Four months into their relationship, Anne and James went on their first holiday together, Marbella! Marbella, along with the East Coast, Brittany, the Netherlands, and Thailand hold very special meaning and memories to Anne and James. Each one has something in common though, family and friends!

Which leads us to today, when deciding where to get married, the options were endless but the one place that kept coming to mind and that Anne and James wanted their whole family and friends to experience was Marbella. The endless sun, activities, sights, food and wine are some of the things that have brought Anne and James so much joy and hope to bring you the same!

We can't wait to have you at our wedding and celebrate our love and visit an exciting new place! We hope it becomes a special spot for you all.
