The Nature Centre is the hub of Red Deer’s Waskasoo Park Trail System; a starting point for anyone looking to delve into their natural surroundings and local wild spaces.

This is the location for Saturdays events! But also if you're wanting somewhere to explore they have:

-Lakes for fishing, a canoe/raft launch,

-9 km of hiking trails along the Red Deer River and in the hills above the river basin, and picnic tables throughout the park available for public use.

-For runners, hikers and biking enthusiasts, the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area is part of the Waskasoo Park System in Red Deer and is connected by asphalt trails to 3 Mile Bend off-leash park, and beyond on the trail system to Bower Ponds, Great Chief Park, and at the end of the trail Heritage Ranch.

The waterpark will be closed starting September long weekend, but golfing will still be available!

For the adventurous soul, ride down 1,300 metres of ski slope and forest trails, using the hand brake in front of you to control your speed! Tickets sell out on weekends/holidays during peak times, so buy your ticket in advance if this is something you'd like to do!
