Anna's POV:When I first saw Jonah, we were both at a protest in 2020 and I thought, “who’s this angry-lookin’ beefcake?” The next time, I cornered him at a party and demanded information. Mid-interrogation, it dawned on me that he had really nice eyes and I liked the way his face lit up when he spoke about something he enjoyed. I saw my opportunity, so I caught him off guard with a weirdly personal yet specific question. His face kind of screwed up for a second... then he shook his head and answered me with a smirk. Somehow, we started talking about our families and a million other things before we realized we’d been in a corner together for the last hour. “Wanna hop on the back of my bike?” he asked. I’ve proceeded to hop on the back of his bike every day since.The following week, Jonah abused the text messaging and calling features between our phones until I allowed him to take me to his, “favorite place on earth.” That weekend, he introduced me to what quickly became my favorite place on earth as well – a family home at the base of Pikes Peak. Manitou Springs and the mountain house became our little home away from home. We spent almost every weekend of that first year and a half together in Manitou, making memories at some of the most unique and picturesque places – hiking, swimming, cave exploring, dancing at dive bars, and learning about the local lore were among our most beloved pastimes.Our very first weekend at the mountain house, Jonah took me to a tiny hole-in-the-wall mineral and crystal shop. He bought me the first of many rings – an amethyst cast in silver. He managed to treat me to wine on a creek in a forest for lunch and our first date night was spent eating fondue (we’re lactose intolerant lol) at The Mona Lisa. He did so well, in fact, that at some point, Myshkin and I decided we would formally adopt him. And a couple years later, we even added Ms. Hazel to our little family! Now, we're getting married in one of the most beautiful, Victorian-era estates in Manitou, Briarhurst Manor, and I'm beside myself with joy. I have been blessed to share the sweetest love story with the most wonderful man and I couldn’t be more grateful.Jonah's POV:Anna and I met several different times, before actually really talking to each other. The first time I saw her I walked in to my house and she was just sittin' in the living room by herself, no idea she was my roommates friend, I was just annoyed someone else was in my house (I was at a very antisocial point in my life) but the way her face lit up when she popped up to introduce herself to me, I completely forgot about how annoyed I was.The second time we ran into each other was at a BLM march out in Denver, no need to go into details there, but she came up and said hi again, and I couldn’t keep my eyes off her all fuckin night. The last time, my roommate was having a grad party at our place and again, thank fucking god, I walk in and there she was, standing in my entryway, lighting up the whole fuckin room.Apparently in her words, “I possessed some information that she wanted” and here comes this little 5 foot nothin babe with a Turkish royal hangin out her mouth asking if I wanna step out for a smoke….couldnt have yelped back yes faster if I tried. We ended up talking for a solid couple of hours, I couldn’t get over the how bright her eyes were, and how interested she was in all the stupid shit I had to say…then she got on the back of my bike for a while before she went home. I was fuckin hooked.Now, this all happened during the first summer of the pandemic, so normal dating, dates, whatever you wanna call it was out the window. But I was determined to impress this girl and get her to spend time with me, and she kept talking about how travel was a huge part of her life, so I asked her to come up to our mountain house in manitou with me for the weekend and surprisingly, she said she would love to. Thank god she didn’t listen to every warning she was taught growing up, not to trust sketchy little bastards, and went up to my house on the mountain with me, cause I’ve been head over fuckin heels, and wildly in love with her ever since.
