Matt and Annette first met when his cousin, her parole officer… This narrative ends here for lack of veracity. However, this is often how Matt comedically begins his version of their love story. The truth may be a little less colorful, but more of the times…

Matt and Annette first became acquainted on the dating app, Bumble. He sent her long messages that she felt could be better answered by Facetime calls. Matt was blown away that this beautiful woman in a PhD program wanted to connect. Matt’s fun facetimes proved good company on Annette’s long work trips to Gaithersburg, MD. They soon learned that they had more in common than education and pharma. He quickly mustered up the courage to ask her out on a “real date”. They agreed to meet at the Vault in Yardley, PA on February 11, 2023. Matt was so smitten with Annette that he was willing to overlook the fact that she almost sat down at a table with a different man by accident. Matt won Annette over with his kindness, humor, and vulnerability, and she agreed to a second date, which happened to be Valentine’s Day. In spite of the fact that Matt failed to bring flowers, Annette eventually forgave him (so long as he annually celebrates lavender picking season with her). Their love blossomed from crushing on each other to co-parenting Annette’s adorable chihuahua, Chucho. On March 24, 2024, Matt kindly asked Annette to marry him at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey amongst The Nine Muses, a meaningful spot from their early courtship. Although Annette did not think she would cry (Matt knew she would), she tearfully accepted his loving proposal.
