Restaurant

This place was one of our favorites! We loved the atmosphere of this place and went multiple times when planning our wedding. The food and drinks were delicious too. The Havana Margarita and Santiago Painkiller were our personal favorites.
Situated in a glass conservatory overlooking the River Walk, Ocho serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks indoors and on our breezeway. Ocho has created a menu rooted in the hotel’s pan-Latin cultural influences from Mexico, Cuba and Texas. The cocktail menu highlights the tequila of the hotel’s San Antonio roots with the rum of its Cuban namesake, with a love for old school recipes and, when the occasion calls, the simple satisfaction of an ice cold Michelada. Ocho offers complimentary wifi and serves espresso drinks to stay or take away.

The Alamo. Heroes died here fighting for freedom. Travis... Bowie... Crockett... Esparza.Their call for aid and refusal to surrender in the face of overwhelming odds stirred America and the world. Their sacrifice helped give birth to Texas. Today the Alamo is the heart of San Antonio and it is Texas' most visited historic landmark. Home of the famous 1836 battle and to living history demonstrations and special events throughout the year, the beautiful 300-year-old former Spanish mission turned fortress is open year-round and is free for families, school groups and everyone to visit, experience the battlefield first hand, and "remember the Alamo."

Restaurant

Opened in 1946, Casa Rio is the oldest restaurant on the River Walk and was modeled after the very first true Tex-Mex restaurant in the entire country which opened in 1899 and went out of business in 1960. We now carry on the tradition of serving the “Regular Plate” which consists of a cheese enchilada, Mexican rice, refried beans, a tamale, and our famous Chili con Carne. This was created as a sampler plate so our visitors could try a little bit of everything. The chili is unique to our community because it is based on a recipe used by the “Chili Queens” in the late 1800s. The Chili Queens would serve visiting military and cowboys their famous chunk meat chili doused in all sorts of spices in the nearby Alamo Plaza. Next time you visit the San Antonio River Walk, don’t miss out on this staple dining experience, underneath the famous umbrellas!
