On July 26, 1998, Luis was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Four days later, Annie was born in Harbor City, California. Little did they know, their paths would cross over two decades later.

Nearly twenty-two years later, Annie and Luis met as students at Tulane University in New Orleans. Luis was embarking on his master's program, while Annie was entering her final year of her bachelor's degree. They quickly bonded over their many similarities, including a shared appreciation of drunk karaoke, a good cheeseboard, and golden hour sunshine.

Along the way, they've woven their lives together through so many beautiful moments. Thanksgiving finds them in Colorado with Annie's family, while Christmas and New Year's are celebrated with Luis’s family in Guatemala City. They have created a colorful home together, complete with their beloved (and incredibly handsome) cat, Goose.

At the core of their love is a deep appreciation for one another. Annie loves how much Luis savors each and every moment in life, and Luis admires Annie's genuine responses to the world around her.

Through it all, their love has only grown stronger. On April 16th, 2023, Luis proposed by making Annie believe they were going on a picnic but actually surprising her by taking her on a surprise yacht ride on Lake Pontchartrain and proposing at sunset.

In July of 2023, Annie and Luis started the tedious and stressful Green Card application process and 6 months later, in March 2024, Luis finally received his Green Card!

And now, on March 22, 2025, Annie and Luis will begin the next incredible chapter of their story. They can't wait to celebrate with you in Antigua, Guatemala!
