There are two family friendly hikes in Chester.
Butternut Hill Trail - 1.9-mile loop trail - leads to the top of Butternut Hill, and offers views of Vermont’s Stratton Mountain, as well as Sunapee Mountain in New Hampshire.

Lost Mine Trail - 2.1-mile loop trail - leads to the remains of an abandoned talc-mining site that operated between 1894 and the 1930’s.

The Bartonsville covered bridge was originally built in 1870, but was rebuilt in 2012 after tropical storm Irene tore down the original. Classic Vermont covered bridge.
Rockingham is ten minutes from Chester and is a great place to go to get old fashioned candies, toys, and trinkets!
