Our Story

After falling in love with the city during college, David moved to Greenville to work at a church and start his residential painting business.

Eight years earlier, Annie had moved from Michigan to be with family.

Although they had known each other for years, it was when David began attending church with Annie that this story really began.

Well, that, and a question from Zach Brinson that consumed David's thoughts for five months: "Would you ever take Annie on a date?"

Before he even realized what he was saying, David instantly replied yes.

The seed was planted. Turns out, it's really easy for a seed to grow when your twin sister lives with Annie. What better way to water a planted seed than to "spend more time with Stephanie?" And start a group text with both of them? And ask them both if they wanted to go hiking on what may or may not have been Valentine's Day weekend?

As you might expect, Annie started getting curious for a couple of reasons. First of all, because around the same time David was asked The Question, a few people had been asking her the same thing. But most of all, there was this one time she caught him staring at her and noticed the look in his eye.

But, after a couple of months of group texting and David continuing to show up, but no clear intentions stated, Annie put up what David affectionately refers to as The Great Wall of China.

From here, David wrestled and wrestled and painted wall after wall until finally, Zach reminded him the only way he would know whether this was to be or not to be was to ask her on a date.

So he called… and she said yes.

Their first date? Sushi, live jazz, and an item that David got to check off his bucket list: crash a random wedding.

By the second date, Annie left thinking she may have found her husband. David left thinking the same thing.

Date three: they became official.

Seven months and many, many taco dates later: David proposed to Annie on her birthday.

On that October day, after several blatant lies that no proposal would happen on her

birthday, she woke up to a homemade breakfast, 29 roses, a surprise massage at the

spa, followed by a picnic in the mountains where a letter was placed in her hands,

David got down on one knee and placed the ring on Annie's finger, asking her to be his wife. She said yes!

And now… a wedding!!

And you're invited.
