Our story is one becoming more common during these times. We met online in late April, 2022. Both of us had been on Facebook dating for about a year and were ready to take a break from it when we crossed paths. When we started to message, the conversations weren’t the typical intro conversations. They were deep, thought out, and honest. We made a date to meet mid May, only Annie had to reschedule from getting sick. The next opportunity to meet was May 22nd. A Sunday night, right after a birthday dinner with Annie’s dad and step-mom. She was tired and not looking forward to getting home late since she has to work the next day. In fact, she told a friend on the way to Mr. Pub’s Brewhouse that she didn’t think the date would be longer than an hour, and she didn’t even think Dave was that interested since she hadn’t heard much from him that week. Dave, on the other hand, had told his sister that if Annie was as easy to talk with and genuine in person, he already knew he would want to marry her. Upon meeting, they talked for four hours and realized this was probably their last first date ever.
