What should I wear?
We ask that all guests dress in cocktail attire, appropriate for a Catholic church (no excessively short or otherwise immodest dress, please). Visit https://www.brides.com/story/wedding-dress-code-explained for a more detailed explanation.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held indoors.
Cincinnati weather in June is typically warm so please dress accordingly. Both the church and reception venue are air conditioned.
When should I arrive at the ceremony?
The couple and their families request that all guests be seated in a pew at St. Cecilia by 12:45pm on Saturday, June 8th. The Wedding Ceremony will begin at 1:00pm. There will also be a rosary said before at 12:25pm for anyone who would like to join.
Are children welcome to attend? Can I bring a plus one?
Anyone is encouraged and welcome to attend the Wedding Mass, including children! Due to capacity restraints at the venue, children and plus ones invited to the reception are specified on your invitation & when you RSVP on the website.
Where should I park?
St. Cecilia is located in Oakley with plenty of parking behind the church and on adjacent streets. Please enter the church through the main doors facing Madison Road.
The Grand offers free parking for those attending the reception at the Fifth & Scott Garage on 15 E 5th Street, Covington, KY 41011 (directly across 5th Street from the venue). The Grand will distribute vouchers at the reception to be used upon your exit. They will also allow you to leave your car overnight until 11am the next morning, if needed.
How long will the ceremony last?
As the ceremony will be a full Catholic Wedding Mass, we anticipate it will last approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes.
Should I receive Communion during the Wedding Mass?
During the wedding ceremony, baptized Catholics who have received their First Communion and are in a state of grace may receive the Eucharist. We ask that those in attendance take a moment of discernment if they are unsure whether to receive. Guests of other faith backgrounds or denominations are welcome to approach the altar during Communion, with arms crossed over their chest, to receive a blessing from the Catholic Priest, Deacon, or a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion. For all wedding guests in attendance who will not receive the Eucharist and prefer to remain in the pews, we invite you to pray for Ben & Annie as a couple, in marriage, and in their vocation to family life. Know that all are welcome to receive a blessing of unity during this time of Communion.
Can I take photos?
In order to preserve reverence of the Holy Mass, this will be an "unplugged ceremony” and as such, we ask that all cell phones be put away for the Mass. A professional photographer and designated individuals will be taking photos during the ceremony.
Feel free to take as many photos as you'd like AFTER the ceremony and share them with us! We will have a QR code at the reception so everyone can share pictures from the night.
Will there be a send-off after the ceremony or reception?
Yes! All guests are invited to stay for a send-off at the end of the Wedding Mass at St. Cecilia. After the recessional song, please exit through the main doors of the church and gather on the steps and sidewalk. Make sure to grab some bubbles on your way out to celebrate Ben and Annie during their exit!
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
Yes! Please see the Travel page of the website for more details.
What should I eat, drink, or see in the time between the ceremony and reception, or while I am in town for your wedding?
Please see the "Things to Do" page of the website for a full list of our favorite local spots!
Will you be livestreaming your wedding?
