What kind of wedding venue?
The wedding will be held at Saint Leonard's Catholic Church and will have a formal nuptial mass plus the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony (the wedding vows).
What is the dress code?
The bride & groom will be in formal attire. The dress code for the wedding ceremony will be "church appropriate" attire and for those going to the reception, you can casual it down as much as you like.
May I bring guests?
Feel free to bring anyone who would like to attend the wedding ceremony, since Saint Leonard's is quite large. Unfortunately, the wedding reception is in a small Italian restaurant and will be by invitation only.
Can children attend?
We believe that if a church isn't crying, it's dying. So children are invited to the church ceremony. Again, please forgive us but the reception venue is so small that it will be adults by invitation only.
Can we take photos and videos?
During the nuptial mass, we would ask that no one uses their mobile phones to take photos. After the ceremony, and especially during the reception, please take and share as many photos and videos as you please.
What is the itinerary for the day?
The nuptial mass will be from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Saint Leonard's Catholic Church on Hanover Street in the North End. Feel free to enter the church as early as you wish.
The reception will be 12:45 until 3:30 PM at Lucia Ristorante on Hanover Street just a few blocks down from the church.
Afterwards, we don't have anything formal planned. We were thinking of heading down Hanover Street to Caffé Vittoria. They serve Italian coffees, tea and cocktails (their famous Espresso Martini).
What kind of meal will be served?
Lucia Ristorante will be serving us a classic Italian meal family style.
What kind of bar will you have?
The restaurant will serve American coffee and tea for free. For liquor, soft drinks, and espresso... it will be a cash bar. The good news is that unlike most North End restaurants, Lucia Ristorante will accept cash or credit cards for drinks.
What about hotels?
We made a block for the Battery Wharf Hotel on the Harbor in the North End. Look at the Travel section of this website for details. Feel free to stay anywhere you please because we don't have any functions scheduled at the Battery Wharf.
What about parking?
Saved the worst question for last. If you are a local, you know how hard it is to park in the North End, so feel free to do your usual. If I find a garage close with reasonable (for Boston) rates, I will add it to the website.
