Once upon a time, in an unforeseen twist of fate, a farm boy named Anton crossed paths with a city girl named Danika at her 31st birthday celebration. Dragged along by friends to, in his words, “a very old girl’s party”, Anton felt a bit uncomfortable and kept to himself. Even though not a lot of conversation was made that day, they definitely noticed one another.

Two weeks later, at a mutual friend’s beach house, their bond deepened as Anton’s karaoke performances and dance moves enchanted Danika completely. Despite their age difference, their connection was instant and undeniable.

As fate would have it, Anton had to leave for work just four months after they met, prompting a challenging long- distance relationship. Initially Danika was doubtful whether to pursue these feelings, but Anton asked her to take a leap of faith and be his girlfriend.

Over the following years, they battelled through many obstacles. Two years of long distance - being separated for 9 months at a time, relocating to Botrivier with only weekend visits, then another two years of working abroad, at least this time for only 4 months at a time. Until finally Anton received the perfect job opportunity which allowed their worlds to merge.

Anton left his farm lifestyle behind to become a Capetonian. This was a challenge in itself to adapt, but as they say, home is where the heart is.

On a picturesque day on a mountain top of the Schönfeldt’s farm, Anton orchestrated the proposal. Danika was under the impression that they were going away for a Valentine's weekend.

On their way, Anton mentioned that he had to attend to a leaking tap on the Schönfeldt’s farm. Presuming this was totally normal, Danika went along with the plan. She was a bit suspicious and kept looking for hints to a possible proposal, but Anton kept throwing her off.

They drove up to the top from where they had to bundu bash to get to the tap. Danika, who was not dressed for this event, was not impressed. Anton persuaded her with a piggy back and a beautiful view ahead.

After lots of complaining and nervous shaking legs as Anton carried her down a very steep slope, they finally made it to the lookout point.

The nerves and excitement were so real Anton dropped down to both knees as he proposed.

Their journey, marked by resilience and devotion, is a testament to the power of true love and the beauty of overcoming obstacles together. They are very ready to embark on the new adventure ahead!
