Antonia & Matthew

August 16–18, 2024 • Paicines, CA

Not many people can actually say that Cupid brought them together, but for Antonia and Matthew, it was true...well, the online dating site OKCupid that is. ;)

One fateful day in 2014, Antonia came across Matthew's dating profile, which caught her eye that he was interested in graffiti and the urban exploration scene. She sent a message to Matthew along the lines of "Nice Instagram!" After a few messages back and forth, they set up their first date to check out a graffiti art show in San Francisco, CA.

Over time, they'd plan dates between the East Bay and Peninsula, which soon turned into amusement park season passes, cruises to Mexico, and constantly scouring Yelp photos in search of their next meal. Together, they are always on the hunt for new adventures!

In February of 2023, they took a trip together to the Big Island of Hawai'i: eating, snorkeling, and hiking their way through the entire island loop. On the final day, they had an early-Valentine's Day lunch on a Vanilla Bean Farm. After the day's events, Matthew wanted to show Antonia a spot "where they could see sea turtles." Unbeknownst to Antonia, Matthew had been keeping a secret the entire trip hidden inside his backpack. As they walked along the sandy beach of ʻAnaehoʻomalu, Antonia spotted a heart made of rocks and flowers in the sand, and stopped to take a photo. Matthew said to look out into the ocean so he could film some footage for their travel video (they had been filming the whole trip so this was not out of the ordinary.) As she looked out into the ocean and turned back around, she was shocked to see Matthew down on one knee to ask her a very important question..."Will you Marry me?"

They are now settled in Matthew's childhood home in San Mateo, hosting game nights with friends, and spending time with their families.

Ringing in 2024 as their 10 year anniversary together, they look forward to finally tying the knot surrounded by all of their loved ones!
