How it all started... 

A New Love It started with a simple friend request — quiet and unassuming. Antonio hadn’t noticed it for weeks, tucked away among notifications he rarely checked. But when he finally saw the name, his curiosity stirred. Maribel Ortiz. He remembered her from years ago — someone he had known in passing, but never close. Curiosity flickered to life as he accepted the request. Not long after, a message appeared."Is this Antonio from Springfield?"Antonio smiled at the familiarity of her words. He typed back, "Yes, Maribel, it's Antonio from Springfield." They began talking — first about the past, then about life as it was now. The conversation flowed easily, comfortable despite the years that had passed. Before long, Antonio asked if she wanted to meet up for lunch and catch up. Maribel agreed but then suggested dinner instead. He hesitated for a moment. Dinner was more intimate — more like a date. That idea sat warmly in his chest. They decided on Wrigleyville, a lively spot where the hum of the city felt familiar and inviting. As the day approached, Maribel grew increasingly nervous. Her daughter, Olivia, helped her pick out an outfit, calming her jitters with soft encouragement. When the evening arrived, Antonio stood on Clark and Addison, scanning the street until he saw her step out of a car. Maribel’s smile was radiant, and as they hugged, he was struck by how natural it felt to hold her. They slipped into easy conversation as they walked toward Deuces. At the restaurant, Antonio ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries while Maribel sipped a cocktail, eating little as I noticed her warm eyes. Laughter came easily, their conversation weaving between memories and new stories. Antonio couldn’t stop noticing how beautiful she looked, how comfortable it felt to be near her. After dinner, Antonio suggested they check out the Old Town Arts and Crafts show. They stopped at 80 Proof, but the crowd wasn’t their scene — too loud, too young. Antonio asked if she wanted to go to West 55th to play pool, a quieter spot near his place. Maribel agreed without hesitation. At West 55th, Antonio played a pool game while Maribel watched from the side, her eyes glinting with quiet affection. When he won, adrenaline surged through him. Without thinking, he turned to her and kissed her. It was soft but sure — a kiss that held the promise of something new, something real. Maribel’s eyes widened in surprise, then softened as she smiled, and Antonio knew in that moment that this wasn’t just a causal connection — it was the start of something deeper. From that night on, they were inseparable. Love bloomed quickly and effortlessly, as if it had been waiting to be discovered all along. Now, as they prepare to join lives, we know this story was meant to unfold this way. From a friend request to a kiss, from a quiet dinner to this sacred vow — love found them when they least expected it. And this time, it will be forever.
