Our Wedding

HOW WE MET

We first crossed paths at Loughborough University, where rugby brought us together. Charlotte was in her second year and Anya was in her first. We both played for the university team, but Charlotte got injured during the first game of the season, so we didn’t properly meet until the summer of 2015, when she returned to play rugby 7s.

We became friends through shared teammates and movie nights — we both lived on the same street in Loughborough and Anya was often round at Charlotte’s house. Over time, friendship turned into something more.

After university, we moved in together and spent four years renting a house in Rainworth. In July 2021, we bought our first home in Hucknall — and now, we’re getting married!

These days, we love playing netball together every week and cheering on the Nottingham Forest Super League netball team at the Motorpoint Arena. We also love going on holidays, having fun adventures, taking our dog, Yogi, for lovely walks, and spending time with family and friends.

In 2026, we will have been together for 10 years and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with all of you!🖤

Our Story

OUR WEDDING DAY

We’re bringing together our favourite people for a day that’s all about love, laughter, and good company. We are really looking forward to celebrating our wedding with you and we’re doing things a little differently!

Rather than a formal affair, we’re creating a day that feels more like a joyful get-together. Think relaxed vibes, meaningful moments, and (hopefully) plenty of laughter. While there will be a few traditional elements sprinkled in, the overall feel is informal, intimate, and fun.

Here’s what you can expect:~ A smaller gathering: We’ve chosen to keep things intimate so we can truly connect with everyone there.~ Outdoor elements: Weather permitting, parts of the day will take place outside, so keep that in mind when choosing your outfit.~ Food, drinks, and good times: We’ll have delicious bites, flowing drinks, and plenty of opportunities to relax, mingle, and enjoy yourselves.~ Fun and games: There will be lawn games, indoor games and other activities throughout the day to keep you entertained and the fun levels up!

🚗 Getting There by CarThe venue is easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking available on-site.Parking info: Free parking available at the venue.Directions: Most routes will bring you in via the A1 or A46 before turning onto local country roads for the final stretch.The lodge sits at the end of a private lane. As you drive along Brandon Road, look out for the turn onto Gorse Lane — you’ll follow this private track all the way to the property. Keep going until you reach the lodge, you won’t pass many buildings on the way, so it’s easy to spot once you arrive.

THE DAY AFTER: BRUNCH & ROUNDERS

We’d love to keep the celebrations going a little longer, so the morning after the wedding we’ll be hosting a very relaxed, informal brunch at the house. Nothing fancy — just cosy, comforting food like bacon sandwiches, croissants, cereal, and plenty of tea and coffee.

There’s no set schedule and no pressure at all — everyone is welcome to join us if they’d like to come along, chat, and gently recover from the night before.

After brunch, we’re hoping to make the most of the beautiful garden with a friendly game of rounders. Whether you’re feeling competitive, want to join in for fun, or would prefer to spectate with a drink in hand, we’d love to have you there. And of course, if you’d rather just relax indoors or enjoy the grounds at your own pace, that’s absolutely fine too.
