101 Days To Go!

How far away is Bakersfield, Vermont?

Far away from anything! Located in the northern part of the state, in Franklin county, we are a half hour drive from St Albans, the closest “big city”, which is right off 89. From central CT it is a 4 1/2 hour drive and you can take The Notch Road to shorten it a little and enjoy a gorgeous drive. Burlington International Airport is 1 hour South and Montreal Airport in Canada is 1 hour and 45 minutes North.

Where can we stay?

We have a room block reserved at the St Albans Hampton Inn for $229 a night, from 9/3-9/7 if you’d like to enjoy the long weekend. Complementary breakfast, pool, parking, plus St. Albans amenities. Reserve date by 8/5/2026. Use code Hamilton or Holman or go direct to the website to book: https://group.hamptoninn.com/wz4lm2 Camping with tents is also encouraged anywhere on the property! We will have a two stall heated/AC toilet trailer on the property for your convenience. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate RVs. There’s no Uber out here so plan accordingly or talk with us to make arrangements.

What do you mean by farm attire?

We have cows, chickens, and old barns so please dress as if you were going to visit a farm! Heels are discouraged unless you really want to but please bring a change of shoes! We won’t make you work but plan for northern Vermont, ie. possible rain, wind, chilly nights, mud, manure, etc. We will have a bathroom trailer on the property for your convenience.

Your ceremony is going to be at a waterfall?

We will be hiking 15-20 minutes into our woods to have the ceremony at the waterfall. Audio will be nonexistent or very limited. This is not for everyone due to the space restrictions and the treacherous hike but there will be a cocktail hour with open bar for those not able to make the trek.

Where can we park?

The field in front of the house will be designated for parking. Signs and cones will help direct. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate RVs. Small vans may be acceptable. Talk to us if you need assistance!

Are children allowed?

While we don’t want to expressly say no to children attending, this is an active farm and may not be the best environment for very small children. While we will do our best to clean up, there are many dangers here, like scrap metal, barbed wire, electric fence, animals, bees, etc. and a dog that jumps and is very excitable with children. We accept no liability for injuries and just want you to have a good time without worry.
