This love story began 10 years ago on a beautiful summer day, specifically, July 11, 2015. Andrew was residing in his land of origin Monrovia, Liberia West Africa. April had moved to Powder Springs, GA from Mobile, Al. a few years earlier. At the encouragement of her sister Joy, applied for a job at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. It was there she met and began working with his sister Cerise and subsequently at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. It was at work one day that Cerise invited April to their mother's 70th birthday cookout. It was at this cookout that the paths of these two would intersect.
When April arrived at the cookout and went to greet Cerise and her mother, Andrew interrupted the two. "Reesee don't be rude, introduce me to your friend"! Before she could reply he stuck his hand out and grabbed April's hand and said "hi my name is Andrew but you can call me Drew". "Welcome, make yourself at home". "Can i get you something to eat or drink"? He went on to assist her and explain the various African dishes that were on the table. They talked and laughed through out the night. April decided it was finally time to leave and being the consummate gentleman he is, asked if it was okay to walk her to her car. They then exchanged numbers and agreed to keep in touch. Shortly after that meeting Andrew returned to Libera.
Fast forward to 2020
After 6 years in Liberia, Andrew moved back to Michigan the previous year. In March of 2020, Andrew was severely sick with Covid and Cerise asked April to call and check on him. That call would rekindle their friendship and in 2021 after years of being friends decided to embark in a full fledged relationship. While Andrew was residing in Michigan, April who had been working as a travel nurse took a travel position in Michigan in December of 2022. After two years of dating the following December 2023 in front of their parents and children, Andrew popped the question and proposed.
