Wow...How the Hunt Began (as April remembers it)....

It all began after I sprained my ankle. I was telling someone the story of how it happened: "there was a car accident outside. I went to investigate and seen someone went through a telephone po--"

"IT'S NOT A TELEPHONE POLE, IT'S A UTILITY POLE!"

I turn around. Enter Billy. Yes, he interrupted my conversation. He is cute. Since I was on crutches, I batted my eyes and asked him to fetch me a cup of coffee. It was the absolute worse cup of coffee I ever drank. I watched him for a bit. A few months later, I took a chance and asked him out for coffee. I honestly thought he was gong to say no (he looked scared). Three days later, we went out on our first date which was chaperoned by Lori and Dave (thanks guys!) to Ruby Tuesdays. Later we went to see a movie (March of the Penguins). I remember Billy grabbed my hand in the car and I felt like a little school girl. He then kissed me goodnight in the middle of the street.

We had a rocky road the first couple of month, but fate kept us together. I am eternally grateful we trudged through those hard months that brought us closer together.

The Hunt Continues.....

The story of our engagement is one I love to tell because it shows the awesome power of God. I started 2016 with a new passion for prayer. I also began the journey into the Law of Attraction and The Secret. So I decided to pray for something bold: that Billy would open his heart up and ask me to marry him. The Bible Tour came into town a few weeks later and they had a prayer board there. I decided to write my prayer request and stick it on the board. A few months pass and I am praying daily for this. I am writing this prayer out every day: "God, please open Billy's heart and have him ask me to marry him." A few months go by and I decide to get bolder in my prayers. I pray to God that Billy would ask me before the end of the summer. Our church had a revival that year, and I started a prayer chain. I put that prayer on the chain. Every day, I am praying. September rolls around. September 10th, to be exact. We had a busy day that day. We bought a crossbow for the opening of archery season. I took a shower and Billy said he had to go somewhere. When he came home, he decided he wanted to go for a hike to where the tree stand was. I grumbled because I just got out of the shower and the bugs were going to eat me alive. But I went. He brought a backpack with some water in it. So off we go into the woods and up to the double tree stand where he took me hunting for my very first time. We get up in the stand and get situated and Billy asks me if I wanted some water. Oddly, he gets down on his knees and starts fumbling in the bag. I'm thinking, "how long does it take him to get water out of the backpack?" Well, it wasn't water he pulled out of the bag. Billy pulled out the ring box, 20 feet in the air, in a deer stand, 12 days before the end of summer! I can't remember a single word he said after that!

The Hunt Is Over...

So finally, our hunt will be over on September 6, 2018. I get to marry my best friend, my soul's mate, my everything. I am so excited to become Mrs. April N. Mulvey!
