Our Wedding

We met at a National Education Association conference in Orlando, FL. The night of the gala, we stayed up all night talking and watching funny videos together. The next night, we had our (unofficial) first date: a soak in the lazy river followed by nachos and margaritas at the pool bar.

July 2023

We spent the rest of the summer commuting back and forth between Denver and CoSprings for lots of really fun dates: Pikes Peak, Top Golf, Renaissance Festival, Outlet Mall, Comedy Works, tattoos, cave dwellings, boating, and so much ice cream! We both love exploring new restaurants, and some of our favorites include: The Hungry Bear, Stem Ciders, 503W, Culvers, and Texas Roadhouse.

Summer/Fall 2023

Adrienne attended AJ’s cousin’s wedding and met the entire Freudenburg family in one day. We had our first road trip to Nebraska together, and also our first Christmas together, where Adrienne gave AprilJoy a RingPop, leading to many jokes in the future.

Winter 2023

We traveled to Las Vegas together! We saw an adult puppet show, a drive-thru wedding chapel, and Miranda Lambert in concert. AprilJoy got to see the Grand Canyon for the first time, and Adrienne got to see Hoover Dam for the first time!

Spring 2024

We traveled to Philadelphia, PA together, for another National Education Association conference. The conference was cancelled after the first day, so we got to spend a week sightseeing and exploring the wonderful history of the city of brotherly love. We visited the Eastern State Penitentiary, The National Constitution Center, Independence Hall, the historic Moshulu (spider-infested boat), and got tattoos with our friends.

Summer 2024

Adrienne moved to Denver! And we immediately began chipping away at our house renovations projects list, starting with pouring a new patio off the kitchen, with the incredible help of AJ's dad, Roy, and our friend Susan. Other projects soon took flight, including a new roof and gutters, finishing the laundry room, and mapping out a new guest bathroom. We went to multiple concerts, including Pentatonix, Brandi Carlile, The Indigo Girls, Sheryl Crow, and PINK! We visited Adrienne’s aunt and best friend in Indiana, and explored the campus of IU, Adrienne’s alma mater.

Fall 2024

In September 2024, we traveled to Turkey together. What a trip! We ate chicken doner, lamb meatballs, fresh baked bread, and of course - more ice cream! Adrienne got to go deep sea fishing, and AJ climbed a waterfall (in a bikini no less!) and took a mud bath afterwards. We also went sailing around the islands of Turkey, spent a day exploring the Greek island of Rhodes, and jumped off a cliff to paraglide down to the beach at Blue Lagoon!

Turkey 2024

After a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner at AJ's Aunt Hope's house, we went home fat, happy, and chatty! We laid in bed talking about everything under the sun: house projects, travel plans, funny videos - when Adrienne suddenly gasped, jumped up, and abruptly left the room, leaving AprilJoy confused and anticipating... What just happened?! When Adrienne came back, she handed AprilJoy a ring, and asked, "Will you marry me?" Of course AJ immediately started crying, and said yes!

Thanksgiving 2024

We traveled to Nebraska for Christmas, where AJ's brother, Eric, took our beautiful engagement photos. Then, on 1/1/25, we flew to Pennsylvania to visit Adrienne's grandmother and aunts.
