This famed road, easily the most scenic drive among the redwoods, has been called the finest forest drive in the world. Lined by titan trees, the 31-mile Avenue parallels Highway 101 and offers an excellent alternate (and slower) route through southern Humboldt County. Mostly flat with gentle curves, it passes secluded forest hamlets, campgrounds, picnic areas, and access points to the Eel River, a federally-designated Wild & Scenic waterway with idyllic swimming, fishing and paddling spots. Numerous trailheads can be found along the Avenue, each leading into the magical redwood forest.
This is where Abi proposed to AP for the first time :)
If you are into trees and nature, you are in for a rare delicacy kinda treat. It's one of the rarest trees on earth. It's white and it's a redwood tree. It's in the THE CALIFORNIA FEDERATION OF WOMEN’S CLUBS GROVE.
Below is the treasure map for it. You won't be able to locate it on the maps. So we have added the google pin for it.
After you park, follow the below instructions, its literally 500m from the entrance.
The grove has one of Humboldt Redwoods’ few albino redwoods, a redwood with white needles. Starting at the entrance gate on the Avenue of the Giants, walk down the access road a few yards and look for a wide unofficial trail on the right. If you lose sight of the gate, you’ve gone too far. Take the unofficial trail for a few yards, bear left at a small fallen log, and look for a large redwood with the small, bushy albino redwood hiding just behind it in a gully.
We know all the hidden gems and backroads of this Northern California treasure. Whether you want a guided tour or a safe, scenic lift to the trailhead, we make it unforgettably awesome.
Please make sure you have permits to hike the lost coast before booking a shuttle.

Since 1982 Finnish Country Sauna and Tubs and Cafe Mokka has been an oasis for those seeking the relaxation and peace of mind that the Finnish sauna and hot tub experience can provide.
The outdoor hot tubs are private and, therefore, clothing optional. The traditional Finnish sauna cabins are also private.
Reservations are highly recommended and are taken up to one day in advance.
Cafe Mokka is named for Barcelona's Cafe Moka, which is mentioned in George Orwell's novel, Hommage to Catalonia. Cafe Mokka, like Finnish Country Sauna and Tubs, is a fixture in the daily life of Arcata, California. Besides its standing as a mecca for conversation and cultural stimulation, it is Humboldt County's oldest coffeehouse and is proud to serve "pre fad" old world style espresso drinks.
