Legally known to the world as Aretha L. Smith & Aaron C.D. Hoye, but affectionately, they are better known by family & friends as Schatzie & Chris! This adored couple has shared years in a very committed, honorable, loving, & respectful relationship. After casually dating & getting to know each other, Chris planned the first of many special getaways to Atlantic City. After an exciting weekend, just before they headed back, Chris suggested the idea that they give a serious committed relationship a try, & Schatzie proudly agreed. Ironically, that very day turned out to be Schatzie’s Mother’s birthday which is July 12th! Like many couples, they experienced trials & tribulations of everyday life, including a treacherous house fire on the day of Chris’s Mother’s Homegoing Service a few weeks before the start of the pandemic. As their 3rd Anniversary approached, Chris planned another special trip. This time even while struggling with the heartache of losing his mother & struggling with some health concerns, he was determined to make a trip to the Baltimore Inner Harbor for an unforgettable Anniversary Celebration in which & he asked Schatzie to marry him where she tearfully & gladly said yes! Unfortunately, Schatzie lost her Father in 2022 a week after his birthday which devastated them both & their families, but not before he gave Chris his blessings to ask for Schatzie’s hand in marriage in 2020. Chris & Schatzie have seen their share of good & bad times & have lived laughed, loved, cried, prayed & traveled together, always putting God 1st all while encouraging others to do the same. After a few Anniversary Celebrations on July 12th the true beginning of many Hoye Holiday Anniversary Celebrations will start with this beautiful, admired couple at their Wedding on July 13, 2024!!!
