Transportation
The ceremony will be held at the gazebo by Mount Ida Manor (unless it rains), and the reception will take place at The Event Barn. There is parking by both the gazebo and the barn, so you can drive between them.
We will be providing two buses (55 passengers each) that will pick up/drop off at Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello. Please see the schedule below:
Pick up from Holiday Inn between 3:30-3:45PM
Early departure from Mount Ida at 9:30PM
Final departure from Mount Ida at 11:15PM
PLEASE NOTE: For those of you that plan to Uber/Lyft, the venue has notified us that Uber/Lyft is only available for drop off at the venue from Charlottesville. You will not be able to get an Uber/Lyft from the venue to Charlottesville at the end of the night. Please utilize our provided transportation for your return to Charlottesville.
Please note, wifi/cell service is limited on Mount Ida Farm & Vineyard's property, so please put your directions in your phone prior to leaving the venue.
Travel Information
For those who are traveling out of state, we recommend booking your airline ticket as soon as possible. The nearest airport is Richmond International (RIA), which is approximately 1.5 hrs away. Other airport options are Washington/Dulles International (IAD), and Washington National (DCA), which are both approximately 2.5 hrs away.
There are car rental sites at all of these airports.
Where to stay
We have a hotel block (10 rooms) at Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello from April 12-13. Should you choose to stay at the Holiday Inn, please be sure to reserve your room by March 19. Please mention the Bowers-Richardson party when you book your room to receive a discounted rate ($189).
